Although the location of the Metropole hotel is very good, it is not particularly well-kept and could seriously do with some updating. However, my room and bed were clean. A heater was left in the room as I'm assuming the radiators weren't working. Luckily I only stayed one night and didn't need to use the shower, as the tiles in... more

i have to say having read some bad reviews on this place, the location could not be beaten, the rooms were very basic but we were just there for 1 night so it was fine, breakfast was included and if there is a big group there are rooms to cater for up to five people. more

I Stayed in this hotel at the weekend. When we first arrived my first impressions were Faulty Towers, but when 'Basil' came to greet us thought that it wasn't so bad as he seemed really friendly. The windows did not open in the room nor in my friends, which is a fire hazzard. I sat in a chair and fell... more

This meant we didn't have to get laden down with bags, which... more

The food was excellent and the accomodation was ideal due to the central location of the hotel. The bar had a friendly atmosphere and the staff were very helpful.... more

I booked my room through the Dublin office of the Irish Tourist Board. I assumed (mistakenly) that the Tourist Board actually inspects the rooms they book and ensures that they meet some sort of minimum standards for comfort and cleanliness. NOPE! There were holes in the walls and leaks in the ceilings. The wood around the windows and the wall... more

The room was terrible. There was a large hole in the wall behind the door. Room and bathroom was filthy. Water from kettle was full of limescale. Water in bathroom went off for about an hour. more
