Although the location of the Metropole hotel is very good, it is not particularly well-kept and could seriously do with some updating. However, my room and bed were clean. i have to say having read some bad reviews on this place, the location could not be beaten, the rooms were very basic but we were just there for 1 night so it was fine, breakfast was included and if there is a big group there are rooms to cater for up to five people. more

We have just returned from a trip to Ireland, and while there we stayed in Kilkenny. This hotel was ideal as it was in within walking distance to all the sights. The room was terrible. There was a large hole in the wall behind the door. Room and bathroom was filthy. Water from kettle was full of limescale. Water in bathroom went off for about an hour. more
