We recently stayed here and i have to say i was really surprised as I had read the reviews - the place must have changed dramatically. Friends booked the B&B for us as they had stayed there previously and when I read the reviews I was dreading it but I have to say they make it sound like a completely... more

Stayed here for one nite as part of a friends stag in August 2009. Firstly, 3 of us stayed in a tiny dingy room, with one single bed and one double...and were charged €65 each...€195 for the room...I would put this as the worst value i have ever encountered for any accomodationa anywhere in the world...in these times, this is... more

We stayed in Rafter Dempseys on a stag night and paid 65 Euros per person. It's in a good location but the rooms are tiny , dirty and generally of a very poor standard. Dont expect hot water for a shower unless you have it in the morning as one of the lads found out to his cost ! We... more

I tagged along with some friends on a trip in Kilkenny who really hadn't booked a room. We were referred here by another B&B that was full. We walked in on a Saturday night at about 2200. The four of us requested 2 rooms. It was 60 Euro per person which I thought was ridiculously high, but just went along... more

We stayed in Rafter Demspeys in October 07 and it was a total nightmare. I have stayed in some bad places in my time but never so bad that i felt the need to write a review! First off, our room was directly above the bar (i do understand that its a busy pub) the noise was deafening, we had... more

We stayed here and loved it (maybe things have improved from older posts). Location is awesome... right in the heart of Kilkenny! Our room was very large (don't know what other poster was talking about)... we were given a double and twin bed in our large room, which was around 80 euros (November). The bathrooms were nice enough... clean. The... more
