If you are not looking for a 5 star sterile place, this is the place to stay. Beautiful location and the owner has done a nice job redoing the place to a high standard. Has a real rustic feel to. The english owner is a professional landscape gardner, and has built a showcase garden at Lawcus with a view to... more

Our stay at Lawcus was the first of our two week trip to Ireland, and I think we may have been a little spoiled! The hosts are friendly and gracious, the property is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious. Even though Lawcus is located a little ways out of Kilkenny, it was an easy drive and just enough to... more

The Lawcus farm is beautiful, the property is large and well placed on a river in a little, as some in the US would call a hallow. The building is old, charming, and nicely updated. The rooms are comfortable and have both character and space. The people working are gracious and helpful, when my father and I arrived at 8:00am... more

Wish we could have stayed longer! This famliy-run B&B (it's not actually a working farm) is a little jewel tucked away in County Kilkenny's verdant countryside. The old stone house, perched above the Kings River, has been updated to modern standards without sacrificing its ancient charm. Comfortable rooms with eclectic antique furniture, down quilts, and pastoral views invite one to... more

My wife and I made the same mistake that most americans make while exploring Ireland...we tried to see too much in too little time. Ireland is best "absorbed" at a leisurely pace, and Lawcus Farms is the perfect place to do just that. The setting could not be more perfect...a 200 year old stone cottage set amidst rolling green fields,... more

We arrived at the Lawcus farm house in the afternoon and we were greeted by Tilley and Bilbo the friendly farm dogs. As soon as we pulled in, we immediately fell in love with the place. It was a picturesque scene with horses, cattle, streams for fishing, and a beatiful farm house. The owner, Mark, was extremely friendly and helped... more

This is a gem !! I The guesthouse is very warm and wonderful !! Old stone stucture that has been completely refurbished. The grounds stretch all the way to the Kings River. The breakfast room is very open and Mark cooks well and is a pleasure. He took the time to show us his property and meet the horses,, just... more

Warm welcome from Mark the owner at this glorious B & B with a 'boho' feel and a great setting. The property has been totally rebuilt by Mark to a high standard and feels very much like a home from home. The property leads down to the King's River, so fisherman bring your rods. Fine home cooked breakfast in the... more
