Dooneen Lodge has the most incredible hosts. Always so friendly and helpful and Noreen supplies a great breakfast to start your day. We arrived to stay one night and move on, but ended up staying four, left for two days to travel south then returned to stay a further two nights. Its about five minutes or so out of town... More

We spent one night at Dooneen Lodge. The weather was pretty wet and as soon as we arrived the heating in the rooms and bathrooms was turned on. It never really got warm enough for me, though... We had a warm welcome (Irish coffee, which we did not try...). Breakfast in the morning was good and Noreen nicely insisted one... More

Finding Dooneen Lodge was a challenge, but maybe that was just an American driving in Ireland! The innkeepers were gracious and we got a great introduction to an Irish breakfast. The room, particularly the bathroom, needed some maintenance because there was some rust evident on the bathroom fixtures. Electric outlets for charging cell phones, hair dryer, etc. were a little... This stop came about halway through our 12 day whirlwind tour. We stayed at a variety of castles, hotels and B&B's. Noreen and Tom were wondeful hosts and extremely helpful offering advise on the area. The guest rooms were immaculate and charming. Our stay was a wonderful mix of modern facilities and old world charm. The breakfast was top notch.... More

If you’re looking for plush accommodations, you probably shouldn’t be looking for a B&B. If you’re not concerned about cleanliness, a wonderful breakfast and an extraordinarily accommodating host, you can probably find a cheaper place. But, if you stay at Dooneen, as I did, you will leave saying: I had a wonderful breakfast, I’m glad I found that place and... More

I stayed for two nights and it was like staying with friends. The house is welcoming and my room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was so large that the second morning, I had to ask for less so as not to be wasteful. You'll need a car since the location is on a small country road, but the opportunity to... More

Dooneen Lodge was the first stop after getting off the plane from the U.S. Noreen greeted my Mom and I like family and helped us relax with hot Irish coffee served in a cheerful living room. The walls were covered with beautiful paintings done by her husband. We felt so well taken care of and loved! She put us down for... More

wonderful hospitality. prompt and easy booking process and the directions were spot on. Noreen and Tom were very helpful; our rooms were extremely comfortable, en -suite, with tea and coffee making facilities and there was a comfortable sitting room available for us to use. Billy, also made us very welcome- the resident four legged friend. Nothing was too much trouble... More
