We read the reviews on Trip Advisor and a lot of them seemed to be quite good. The photographer is excellent that took the photos for the website as it looks nothing like it. When we checked in, we were given a room that stank of cigarette smoke. The corridor also had a very stale smell. We complained about this... more

I stayed in The Atlantic Coast in mid August with some friends, we had an absolutely brilliant time there. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. We had a lovely room, which was very clean and had a beautiful view. We had an evening meal in the hotel 2 of the 3 nights we... more

We had already booked this hotel before we saw the bad reviews but thought it couldnt be that bad?! but soon realised it really is a disappointing disaster. Our room had a stained lamp shade and a mingin green tiled floor at the door. Our first night was a saturday we were really looking forward to going out, when i... more

Clean and airy large bedroom but overlooked car park, breakfast was a good variety and a nice start to the day but this hotel is a disappointment, tatty in places and the pool and gym is very poor more like a three star. The hotel is excellently located for walks and meals at The Helm bar which were brilliant, lots... more

The website was completely misleading! The pictures on the website show a 4*hotel while the place is barely a 3*. The lobby is old, dated and dirty, the rooms were similar to staying at the Travel Lodge or Ibis. We even upgraded to the executive suite which was suppose to include for a room with a view of Clew Bay... more

The Atlantic Coast Hotel is rated as a 4* establishment but i fail to see why ! As part of the Carlton Group we were expecting a much higher standard but were disappointed. While it offers the basics, luxury would not be in abundance. There are areas within the hotel which could benefit from a once-over. The website for the... more

I have just returned from a fantastic weekend at the Atlantic Coast! After reading the reviews I was a bit dubious, but since I had it booked & a deposit paid I was still going to go!! Upon arriving I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who was so helpful, from then on we enjoyed everything from the food... more

Very disappointed with this hotel. It should be down graded to a 3* at most. I booked this two nights B+B and evening meal through the hotel web site and saved a few Euros. The Web site was impressive - but we were very disappointed. I booked it for our 23rd wedding annerversy The room was very basic, no luxuries... more
