I stayed at Ardtarmon with my elderly mother and my dog for easter, and we were blessed with glorious sunshine -- a rarity in Ireland at that time of year! After a warm welcome from Christa and Charles Henry, we stayed in what they called the "garden cottage", a two-bedroomed single-story house backing onto a wonderfully romantic woodland garden, and... more

Ardtarmon house is a very special house of tremendous charm and grace. It was the perfect place for us to relax in for a few days We particularly liked the small track out from the garden that leads down to Sligo bay - with the most magnificent of views, and walking galore along the seashore. Charles and Christa are tireless... more

We drove up in the early evening and felt like we were entering the Adams Family Home. It was dark and austere. It took forever to find as it is in the middle of nowhere. It's not in Sligo but Ballinful. The host and Hostess were nice, however, the place was filthy, the rugs were dirty and worn, the furniture... more

My husband had spent two very hectic days checking out the sites in Northern Ireland when we drove to Ardtarmon House from Portrush in County Antrim. It was exactly the experience we wanted and needed! The estate is gorgeous and secluded. So quiet and so peaceful. The home has been in the owner's home for well over 150 years and... more

My husband and I stayed at the Ardtarmon House for the last two nights of our trip around the west coast of Ireland. We initially were attracted to the place by the website which was impressive. The place itself is magical. We were greeted by Charles Henry whose family built the house in the 19th century. We were soon joined... more

My husband, 4 year old son & I stayed at Ardtarmon house for a long weekend and were thoroughly pleased! We were greated with tea & cake upon arrival. We found the atmosphere extremely relaxing. The accomodation was well worth the value. We stayed in a large room with a view of the garden that had a little alcove with... more

We stayed for two nights at Ardtarmon House, and it was wonderful despite the horrible cold, wet weather. Christa treated us to tea and biscuits immediately on arrival, and looked after us throughout our stay. She lent us OS maps of the area, and gave us excellent advice on where to visit and where to eat. We walked down to... more

We stayed a night at this beautiful property and it was a highlight of our trip. From the moment we turned onto their lane, we knew it would be special and it was. The room was spacious and clean and very pretty, but the property was what made it special. A very short enjoyable walk to a totally private beach... more

My husband and I stayed at the lovely Ardtarmon house a couple of weeks ago and found it a very pleasurable experience. We had a beautiful spacious room with a view over the garden. Christa was a charming and gracious host. Do not be put off by the nasty comments from one of the first reviewers (obviously some agenda there).... more
