Stayed at the Clarion whilse on a visit to Sligo but was nearly put off by some of the more extreme reviews . we didn't experience any problems. Yes there were a few hen parties..its an occupationalk hazard at this time of year. Breakfast was plentiful and the dining room had a lovely family atmosphere..lots of kids chattering away. Yes... more

Staff at reception very nice, but that is were it ended. The staff in the restaurant were very rude, they didn't have good english at all, the food was terrible, the service as bad, thankfully the evening meal was included in the price as i would not have paid for it. The hotel looks great from the outside, but inside,... more

This was a lovely clean hotel. We stayed in a suite as there was no family rooms available. It was very nice which had everything in it. The things I did not like was there is not one cartoon station on the tele for children. This can be very useful for a half hours peace. The bar staff were very... more

My husband and I with our two young children stayed here recently. This was our second stay in this hotel and it was even better second time around! We had a great suite in the hotel at no extra charge and the facilities for a young family were great. The hotel has a great pool/leisure centre, great food, is very... more

I stayed here for one night with my boyfriend. From the website it looked nice and the fact that it was four star, I thought it would be a good place to stay. After my experience I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to friends or family. From the outside it looks quite nice, but on... more

Check in ok, room fine although it had a communicating door which meant we could hear everything from next door. Long hike to room but that I think that insulated us from the high level of noise in the hotel.Corridors were littered with trays of congealing food dirty glasses etc. Went out could not park when we came back -... more

Arrived Saturday b4 Easter and left Easter Tuesday. Hotel is a converted 1850's built hospital, very impressive from outside and once inside you'd never know its original purpose. Huge entrance foyer area which is great for people watching and having a drink whilst the kids run around. ALL the staff were excellent in any interactions we had with them, especially... more

I found that the only thing that I could recommend about this hotel was its fascia which was a façade. The poor receptionist had a long queue every time I went up to her and she seemed very hassled, this was the same with most of the staff. The inside of the hotel was cold and unwelcoming, no flowers, no... more

Stayed for the night on 4th April in one of the rooms attached to the hotel (in the apartment area). A group of my friends had come down the night before. The hotel itself looked nice, staff were friendly. The rooms were alright, clean enough, but getting to the rooms from the main hotel was totally ridiculous.. me and nearly every... more

A group of 24 of us stayed in the apartment suites attached to the Clarion Hotel at the start of March for a hen party. I got a better price for the rooms through Dream Ireland than with the hotel itself but I have to say the rooms were absolutely perfect for what we wanted. There were 2 bedrooms per... more
