Fantastic B&B, Brian, the owner, has the magic- many B&Bs could learn a lot from him. I stayed in another B&B the week before, it cost €10 less but the difference was enormous. If you are looking for comfort, tranditional Irish experience (without the diddly idelly doo) then this is the place for you! more

We have just returned home after a week trip in Ireland. One of our planned stops was that at Cairbre House in Dungarvan and that was a very good choice of my husband ! Upon arrival Brian (the host) welcomed us with tea, coffee and biscuits which we really were desperate for after a long drive from Dublin. The house is... more

Lovely people. The host gave us a warm welcome with tea and biscuits and very good advice for dinner. The room was spacious and furnished with care. The entire house is furnished with a very good taste and with true pieces of life. The garden was so nice that I took same photo as a reminder for my country home... more

What more is there to add to the preceding reviews? The location is fabulous, the gardens lovely, and Brian is a most welcoming host. He provides a wide range of breakfast dishes - not the usual Full Irish fry-up - including locally smoked salmon and an unusual tasty vegetarian option. The location must be idyllic in good weather and is... more

We booked the Cairbre House having read other reviews and we were not disappointed. The location was beautiful and a pleasant 15 minute walk into the town centre. Brian was a wonderful host who greeted us with genuine warmth. He immediately made a lovely pot of tea with biscuits and provided them whilst we sat in his gorgeous Rose Garden.... more

We enjoyed our stay at Dungarvan! Brian was the first Irishman in Ireland we had chatted to at length and we learnt something about most Irishmen - they talk fast! But if you can listen fast you find out a lot about the area and your room and breakfast the next morning! (Irishmen walk fast too!) Brian was great and... more

My friend and I stayed at the Cairbre house our first night in Ireland. Brian was wonderful. From the minute we walked in he was lovely and willing to assist us in any way he could. We had a lovely room and I must say the attention to detail was phenomenal. Everything was beautiful and purple! Brian assisted us in... more

I just scanned the other reviews of Cairbre House and Brian, its proprietor, and everyone seems to say the same thing. Attention to detail. My friend and I were in the "purple" room, and everything was color-coordinated and lovely. Brian gave us a complete run-down of where to eat in town, and offered up his collection of menus for our... more
