Stayed at Churchtown House for the second time for a week in July 2009. Austin and Patricia Cody are both wonderful hosts, the food is excellent and the service, cleanliness and attention to detail remain first class. Waitresses and domestic staff all extremely pleasant and attentive to our needs. The hotel is beautiful, steeped in history, standing in idyllic picturesque... more

This was a ferry stopover for us on our way west. The house is very grand inside and out and a cut above the average B&B. This is however reflected in the price. We received a very friendly welcome on arrival but were a little disappointed that our room didn't have tea/coffee making facilities (a common theme among Irish B&B's)... more

Ireland is a very very expensive place to visit and generally I am not sure it was worth it all in all. Accommodation, food and drink is partcularly expensive and given the exchange rate this is made even worse. A classic example was here. It is beautiful and characterful old farm house immaculate presented and furnished. You have the impression... more

Elegant, comfortable country house hotel, a short distance from Wexford town and located close to south Wexford's beautiful beaches. Our room was large and airy, overlooking the attractive gardens. The hotel was originally an old farmhouse and retains a lot of charm and character. The famous Lobster Pot restaurant is a ten minute drive away, at Carne Beach - well... more

We've stayed here previously and it was very good. The house is lovely and location idyllic. However this time, despite the excellent accommodation and the fine evening meal we had one day, there were problems. No tea making facilities in the room + it took for ever (5 minutes or so) for hot water to emerge from the shower in... more

very pretty and easy to find with comfortable large rooms. Best thing though is how close it is to the ferry. Nice to arrive in Ireland and stay somewhere genuinely peaceful without having to drive any distance. Friendly owner recommended a few places to eat out. The lobster pot had excellent restaurant quality food at restaurant prices, dispite looking like... more

Friendly host, huge room and good breakfast. This would have been ideal for a longer stay but we were only passing thro. A little more expensive than elsewhere but it was great to have such a nice spot to stay after the ferry to Rosslare and before driving all the way to Killarney. more

Lovely hotel in quiet location in large grounds, only 5 minutes drive from the ferryport at Rosslare. We were allocated the principal first floor front room, which was very spacious and well appointed. Creeky floorboards are to be expected in a 18th century building. The loo was great with a full length window overlooking the car park and grounds, but... more

Had a fantastic surprise anniversary break at Churchtown House. My husband booked us in and I really enjoyed my break there. We had a wonderful dinner on our 1st night and slept extremely well in our very spacious bedroom. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for a days touring. We visited nearby Carne beach which we loved and plan... more

My husband and I have just spent 2 nights (@July 2007) at the very beautiful Churchtown House. We were made very welcome by Austin and Patricia Cody, who are excellent hosts. The accommodation was first class and so was breakfast! We were sorry we couldn't avail of the evening meals during our stay due to other commitments, but next time... more
