I recently stayed in the Danby Lodge hotel for a family wedding. It was very reasonably priced and the staff were superb. The service we received during our meal was fantastic and everyone enjoyed the food (and they even brought seconds! but we were stuffed from the first dinner!) Anywhere you looked was a friendly face smiling back at you... more

I was recommended to stay in the Danby Lodge Hotel by another hotel nearby after they had over-booked our room. I was so disappointed when I saw the room. It smelled like stale smoke and dirty socks, parts of the carpet were sticky and it was just a hole in general. We went out that night and came back to... more

We stayed here at the end of a 2 week holiday after driving for more than 4 hours from the other side of the country. We needed to chill out before travelling back to Wales on the ferry the next day. We had a lovely refreshing rest - very comfortable beds - crisp cotton sheets, radiators, hot water. We didn't... more

On arrival our room wasn't ready, we were given drinks on the house while we waited but no-one came to tell us when our room was available. Our room was very disappointing compared to the previous two hotels, although similar prices paid. Small bed, very small inaccessible TV, small window overlooking dustbins and storage sheds with constant noise of kitchen... more

Stayed here with family and friends for a wedding in July. Perfect little spot, ideal for a small family wedding. Outdoor grass and play area great for children, which is just outside the bar area so easy access to children. Staff very friendly. Very relaxing atmosphere. Rooms probably could do with some updating but the beds and bathroom were spotless.... more

14th November 2008 We decided to visit some friends in Wexford so we booked the weekend at this lovely hotel. When we arrived we were greeted by a young male receptionist who welcomed us to the hotel and within minutes we were handed our key. No delay, no fuss which is more than we have experienced in some of the... more

I stayed at the hotel for a friend's wedding which took place in the hotel itself. When I checked out their website, I was impressed by how luxurious it all looked. On arrival, the reality is quite different. Don't take me wrong - the hotel is clean, the staff are friendly, and there was nothing wrong with the breakfast or... more

My husband and I found this hotel on the net and thought it looked lovely for a little romantic get away, how wrong we were. Firstly nowhere on the net does it show or even suggest that it is beside the main road to the ferry so the noise was terrible. We had to wait over 10 minutes at reception... more

A wonderful and magical day had by all. We have nothing but good things to say about the Danby Lodge Hotel. In June 2007 we held our wedding reception there and our guests are still talking about the wonderful setting, lovely food and friendly and efficient service they received on our big day. From the moment we booked the occasion,... more
