The website of the Auburn Terrace Guesthouse looked lovely. The rooms seemed well furnished, well kept and full of old time gracefulness.
The reality unfortunately was totally different.
The place looked thrown together in a hurry to make a quick buck!!! Furniture was obviously gathered from junk shops and left uncared for, the floor of the hall was very dirty, carpets had not been hoovered for a long time and the kitchen area was also dirty.
The bedrooms were just about ok!
The first night my mattress was so lumpy I could not sleep so I had to change rooms. Staff were helpful but obviously had no interest in the place at all. There was no sense that anybody was looking after or caring for the guesthouse.
This is possibly one of the worst places I stayed in in the last three years (same standard or worse as the Hotel St Giles in London!!!!). In future i will not make a move unless I have the ok from TRIP ADVISOR! more
