We stayed for one night only, Google Earth helped us find the entrance from Fitzwilliam Street into the secure car park, reception was fine, room was fine, breakfast was ok (apart from the tea.) We had seeen on trip advisor a warning about the noise from a wedding party in the hotel, we said it's only for one night so... more

Dear Durhamwalley, Following your recent stay, I was pleased that you were happy with the quality of the reception staff on duty upon your arrival, the room provided, and the breakfast apart from the tea. This is a first and suprises me as we only use Tetley teas and our many thousands of guest each year as well as this...

Absolutely discusted !!!, We had an event in the hotel, the price if this increased at the last minute, we paid £ 1250 for up to 50 portions (although only 25 people turned up) of an awful buffet and room retal for the evening. The food was of a discusting quality, we could turn out the same for a fiva,... more

Dear Sir, I am unable to find any record of your booking, and can only conclude that it must have been some time ago. Firstly any buffet meal as advertised in our brochure, is served to the guests by waiting staff who are in attendance throughout the function. The type of buffet that you have described is a finger buffet,...

From our first contact with the hotel we had impeccable service. The staff were very friendly, helpful service with a smile. The restaurant food was well presented, good choice and tasted great! What a great choice at breakfast, buffet style and not a cheap sausage etc in sight. A great traditional hotel with bags of character, we will be back!! more

Dear Marydoll, Thank you very much for your short and to the point letter of thanks. It continues to be very gratifying when someone takes the time and trouble to so promptly compliment us on our efforts. We look forward to welcoming you back soon, and please excuse me for the slight delay in not responding sooner. Alan Price

I have just read some 4 and 5 star reviews of this hotel and I am truly amazed. The place is rundown, shabby and the corridors stink (not merely of smoke). The bedrooms are small and grotty. The bar food prices are extortionate and the only decent thing about the place is the breakfast. I have had to stay here... more

Dear Sir, I am very disappointed with your review of our lovely hotel, and sorry that it has taken you six months since your stay for you to share your observations and experiences with me. I and my staff have worked extremely hard to provide, what we consider to be extremely high levels of service, hospitality, food, and comfort, which...

I stayed at this hotel with work collegues for a conference and dinner dance and was more than happy with the service. The hotel has lots of different areas in different styles which add to its charm. We had executive rooms which were very nice. Big comfortable beds with a very stylish bathroom. The rooms felt slightly 'no frills' but... more

I had a great stay at The Bull. The staff is fantastic, and the location is as good as it gets--right in the middle of town, near the cathedral, train station, shopping, and good restaurants. The restaurant is a bit pretentious, but some people like that sort of thing, and the neighborhood offers plenty of dining options for those who... more

I travel a lot and have got fussy but had a good nigt here. 3 of us were her for one night, definitely go for an executive room which have been refurbished with a/c. The first room they gave me was in need of an update with a window which looked at out on to a wall 15 inches in... more

I stayed at The Bull in Peterborough one Tuesday night for business. I couldn't fault it at all. From the moment I arrived I was greeted with smiles from the staff, courteousness and even got a free upgrade to the executive wing due to me being incorrectly assigned a smoking room when the booking was confirmed. I didn't eat breakfast,... more

After having spent two nights at the Bull, I was compelled to submit a review for Trip Advisor. I have to say that both my wife and I were really impressed with the high standards that were demonstrated at this hotel, not only in terms of cleanliness and service, but also in terms of decor. The Bull is a friendly... more

What a lovely surprise! Fabulous, very english hotel. After having a little trouble finding the car park my partner were delighted by this hotel. We booked online the night before for £90 with booking.com and at reception the lovely young man after finding out we had booked the room only offered us a discount ticket for breakfast which meant we... more
