I stayed at the st georges for 4 nights in may with a shearings holiday, I cannot fault the staff who were all very polite and freindly, I had a single room on the 2nd floor at the back and was very impressed as in my experience you pay a large single supplement and get the smallest room in the... I stayed one night for a trade show. I knew I was getting a good deal on the price, but the hotel reflected this. So on balance it was good value. The bedroom was clean, but the bathroom had peeling paint and could have done with a makeover. Staff tried very hard and were friendly. A couple of coach partys... More

As some of the reviews point out the hotel is old and tired - it is a 3 star and that is what you are paying for. As a compromise the staff and the service were 5 star. We had a 2 night stay, dinner bed and breakfast, the breakfast is better than some 5 star hotels, the menu even... More

Stayed for a long weekend Friday to Monday in early May. Room 228 at the front had no traffic noise, a nice view and was very clean. The on-suite bathroom was recently refurbished and again very clean, with plentiful hot water at all times. Buffet breakfast had a good choice and evening dinner was varied, good portions, beautifully presented and... More

We needed 2 nights B&B to go to the Harrogate Show and meet up with friends. This hotel was right in the centre, the room was very spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was obviously a coach party in the hotel, which made breakfast busy on the first day, so we... More

It's wonderful to read you had such a good time here at the St George. You're right to say it can be a bit noisy, however guests can and very often do request bedrooms at the back for this reason. Kind Regards Edwina More

Had a lovely long weekend away. The hotel is very good, excellent food in the restarant, rooms very spacious, and very clean. Intial reception somewhat confused, especially with our "reserved parking", which apparently we had not booked. Eventually the problem was sorted out by Ruth, on reception, although we had three different parking bays on our 4 night break. Prehaps... More
