The birthplace of CAMRA in Derby, this friendly house makes an excellent and relatively inexpensive base for a pub crawl of the town. Right around the corner from another of the icons of the local cask ale scene (The Brunswick brewpub), the only thing you'll need to have for a pleasant stay is a modicum of moderation. (The ale here is well-kept and much too suppable.) The rooms are of a decent size and the breakfast excellent. I'll be heading back the next time I'm in Derby. more
