Booked via best western website as last minute deal. £45 Dbl B+B, per night (2 adults). Room as very clean, modern decoration and fairly spacious. Fab comfy bed with blankets not duvet (dont mind either myself). TV old style, not 100% clear reception but good enough to watch - NO SKY. Open plan 'wardrobe' with shelving, hanging rail and trouser... more

Stayed here for 1 night while visitng RAF Lyneham. The driveway up to the hotel was very pretty and there were lots of activity on the golf course. The grounds looked lovely. Check in/out went very smooth and the receptionist was friendly. Our room was clean, warm and spacious but it was basic. There was no room safe and the... more

the hotel is okay for what i needed it for, somewhere quiet to stop off between london and the west country. nothing to look at from the outside, although the grounds and golfing look nice (it was freezing and raining so i had no use for them). The reception staff seemed as though we were an annoyance for just checking... more

Good hotel for the price. Good facilities, gym, pool etc. Spacious comfortable room. Restaurant is OK, but don't be taken in by the 'award winning head chef' I think these award were along the lines of "hole in one on the 15th"! more

This is the second time we've stayed here (see previous review!) and I have to say that we were even more impressed this time around. We booked at the very last minute and needed a camp bed in the room for our daughter which, on our arrival an hour later, had been smartly made up. Like last time the room... more

Stayed here for a wedding at Easter and found our stay perfectly adequate. I think some of the previous reviewers perhaps have an outdated view of what to expect at a golf and country club. Most of them had their best days in the 1980's and this is no different. However we found the reception staff helpful, allowing us to... more

The Country Club image is a far cry from the Wiltshire. Thoughts of charming staff, luxurious surroundings where the food and wine is superb and nothing is too much trouble to please your needs - forget them! The reception staff have one smile between them. The food was not good and from the school of "ding!" I think and breakfast... more

We stayed for only one night as we were at a friends wedding locally and were disapointed with the quality of the hotel. Reminded us of the motel that Alan Partridge lived in ...a far cry from what you would consider a country club would be. A bizarre mixture of oak pannelling and polystyrene ceiling tiles in the public areas,... more

I stayed here on a Saturday Night, shot notice, to attend a party in the area. A twin bedded, non smoking room was requested - a double was provided. It was OK but not not what I had booked and they were not able to help with a change. Breakfast next morning was poor, cold dishes of limited fare, presided... more

I stay at the wiltshire golf club on a regular basis and have found it to be a great base. The leisure facilities are fantastic and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very clean, with good showers and the smarties make a lovely finishing touch. Sometimes the food can take a bit of time to arrive... more
