Took advantage of a two night autumn break. We love walking and the hotel is in a great location for walkers with a nature reserve accross the road and the Wrekin nearby. Our room was clean and comfortable (an executive double), and overlooked the lovely lake which was full of fish. The food was of a very high standard as... more

I recently stayed at the Buckatree Hall hotel as a 'stop off' point for a long journey. I found the hotel staff very friendly and they went that extra mile to ensure my stay was enjoyable. I had a lovely room overlooking the lake, luckily for this time of year the weather was nice so I could enjoy the lovely... more

Pity this lovely hotel on the slopes of the Wrekin is so run down. Management do not seem to care that hotel facilities are dirty broken or just worn out. Complaining is a pleasure- the staff are nice, though dozey. But don't expect anyone to do anything about rotten plumbing, smelly rooms and really bad food. The wi-fi doesnt work,... more

I got married at the hotel on 6.11.09. We visited many hotels in the area looking for our perfect venue, from the very first moment we walked through the door at The Buckatree Hall Hotel we were welcomed with a warm smile and we felt special. Infact this feeling of being special never went away. Yes the hotel is tired... more

We stayed three nights. The room was so shabby even though we upgraded to an executive double. One day it wasn't even cleaned! Only ate one night in the restaurant and that was enough, Two things were no longer available and when we wanted the same main meal there was only one portion left so had to compromise. Alright if... more

First of all the location is very strange, stuck in the middle of nowhere just off the main road. The hotel is set around a lake (more like a swamp) and looks a little tired from the outside. Rooms were very basic, the door to our balcony didn't lock and the bathroom had a lot of damp on the ceiling.... more

Read the reviews with a little bit of trepidation , but knew i wasn't going to a five star hilton, as star rating for hotels are pretty useless. After a minor hiccup with accommodation, Martin the the duty manager did what all good managers should do , he actually listened and resolved the situation. Top marks. Excellent breakfast and dinner... more

Stayed for a long weekend - just needing somewhere to sleep. Hotel is tucked away in the country, in a lovely idyllic location. The place has seen better days but is clean, homely and the staff work very hard to help you and make you feel welcome. Indeed - the staff make the difference. Nothing was too much trouble for... more
