Stayed here during stopover at Gatwick Airport. A fair standard hotel for the price. Located in the centre of Crawley and surrounded by shopping streets, restaurants, cars etc. Reception was courteous and efficient, room was a little dated but clean and comfortable. A 10 minute taxi drive from Gatwick and a complimentary hotel car for the return journey made everything... more

Dirty water, unhelpful staff.........I stayed in this hotel with my mum for one night prior to getting a flight to Gatwick the next day.Upon arriving we were served by possibly the most dis-interested, unhelpful and rude hotel receptionist in the history of man. Why he has a job that is customer facing i will never know!! Before booking the hotel... more

I got this as I wanted a rest before going home after a flight from Egypt. Arriving at 2am in the morning I was not in the best of moods, and frankly found the service of the night porter very bad, like your room is across the car-park and its late, you are tired, I have nothing to do, but... more

I booked this hotel because I wanted the atmosphere of an old inn and we wanted to be near Gatwick. We were pleasantly surprised with the wonderful accomodations! The room and bath were spacious and modern. The service was great! In addition, Crawley was a interesting place to visit. I will recommend it to my friends! more

Stayed here with the missus on an overnight stop over at Gatwick. Suffice to say we were worried having read the previous reviews but it was only £50 and only 1 night so we thought we'd keep an open mind. We were pleasantly surprised. Our room was large and very comfortable. The front desk were helpful and friendly on check... more

Having read the reviews on this site we were really nervous about what the hotel would be like. We were pleasantly surpised. It may not have been the nicest place I have ever stayed, but it was basic and clean which is what I would expect for the price we paid. The man at reception was friendly and efficient. We... more

I stayed with my wife and son overnight and the room was fine particularly considering the cost which included breakfast (£65 for all three of us). If I was staying longer I wouldn't pick this hotel but only because it is situated in Crawley which is horrible. If I was returning to the area I would stay at Horsham just... more

If you want a budget hotel in a great location close to the airport, and in the town center giving you lots of options to eat and drink out... don't hesitate to book the George. Its clean, functional and comfortable but most importantly it offeresvalue for money. The breakfast is superb too! However dont pay 2 star prices and expect... more

MIND THE GAP AMERICANS! If you want to see real historical England you must stay here at least a couple nights. The George is located in a popular area called High Street where little markets pop up in the mornings and some spirited "college town" bars open up at night in this historical square type area. This is an outstanding... more

We did not even stay here. Having read the terrible reviews we decided to stay elsewhere, and contacted the hotel two weeks before we were supposed to stay to cancel our reservation. We were told it was cancelled and did not think anything else about it until our credit card bill showed they had charged us for the stay. We... more
