Had long lay over at Gatwick on way home from Spain (21 hours). I made reservations online, decided I only needed 12 hours of down time.. rest was spent walking around. Yotel is located in south terminal, my flight arrived in north, it was a short train ride to south terminal. I did not have to use my credit card... more

Yotel is a great concept and given the location is very convenient in Gatwick South Terminal. We stopped off at Yotel and the end of our recent holiday abroad as our flight was a late night flight back into the UK. I booked Yotel purely as a stop off to have a few hours sleep and to refresh ourselves. I... more

The location is perfect for anyone who worries about being on time for departures. We wanted twilight check in for our flights so stayed overnight. The cabin was large enough for an overnight stay. It was very clean, the service was first class. The monsoon shower is now on my wish list! The evening meal was good, but we would... more

Compact does not aptly sum up the microscopic claustrophobic box which describes itself as a 'pod'. Indeed, a pea probably has more room. My journey into space began with clinical sliding doors and a friendly receptionist (lovely though she was, the product takes more selling than humanity can muster!). My corridor was green and my pod lit in fetching, gloom... more

Yotel is the latest business venture of Simon Woodroffe, who founded (and later sold) the Yo!Sushi restaurant chain. His idea for the Yotel chain is inspired by basic, but stylish and relaxing "pod" hotels which are popular in Japan. Japanese hotel rooms are small in general, and although sticking to basics, they tend to be stylish and trendy. The Yotel... more

Staying at the Yotel made sense. It was easy to book online, located just a few hundred yards from Gatwick Train Station (station and hotel are both in the airport terminal), and right next to airport check in. Reception was friendly and efficient. The room had a LCD TV with internet, email and movies built in. The bed was comfy... more

If you are just looking for a convenient place where to overnight before catching the next flight, this is definitely the most cost efficient and practical option available. Not only are its prices extremely competitive (I have also been to the Hilton nearby and is definitely not worth the 250% surcharge), it is also located literally within walking distance of... more

During an eight hour stay in London, I was at first hesitant to even visit the Yotel, since I thought it was below my regular standard of hotels. However, whilst following the easy directions in Gatwick's South Terminal, I met another businessman, who assured me the hotel was great for a short stay. On his recommendation, I checked in. The... more

The rooms are definately small, wouldn't book a standard room for two people, but for one it was perfect. I got there early and was allowed to check in, which was really nice as I was so tired after an overnight flight. When I did want to go out, the trains are really close and it just made everything easy.... more
