After a debacle with the Manchester Britannia Hotel - they claimed overbooking and farmed us out to this place late at night - we arrived at the Bolton Britannia Hotel. From the moment I saw the dated façade I knew it wasn't going to be great. But at least it didn't have a nightclub attached to it like their sister... more

on arrival we had a warm welcome by polite staff and swiftly shown to our room. the room was clean, warm and had everything you might need. the evening meal was three course and very enjoyable after a days shopping in nearby Bury. the bar offered 3 hours of cut price drinks ( happy hours). breakfast was self service with full... more

We stayed here for one night - thank goodness only one night. The Staff were Rude .The food Diabolical .The Hotel is in need of decoration and is dirty.Carpets pitted . It is situated in the middle of a housing Estate so a 10 minute Taxi ride is necessary to go anywhere. The hotel has nothing to offer . Personally i... more

Being a Kidney dialysis patient the hotel welcomed me, no problems. My fluids were delivered to a disabled room on the ground floor (not requested). The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and the bathroom was huge, ideal for wheelchair users, Plenty of disabled access to the dining room, bar and hotel itself. Staff very pleasant without being over... more

I paid under £50 for a twin room on a Saturday night. This also got me a buffet breakfast in the morning. Was expecting the worst but was pleasantly surprised, the reception staff were helpful without being too over friendly. Free copy of the Independant newspaper available as well. The rooms were in need of a fresh lick of paint,... more

I have been staying at this hotel for short breaks for years as I often visit family who live near the hotel. When I first started going to the hotel, it had been newly refurbished and looked fresh and modern. I really liked it. Unfortunately it is looking quite tired and a bit rundown now, however the staff are always... more

We stayed in this hotel for one night. We felt it lacked in staff and atmosphere. We did not feel welcome when we arrive and when we where leaving my husband handed in the card for the room and thanked the girl in reception, she however completely ignored him and answered the phone. And unless you have a credit card... more

Having gone on a coach trip with the elderly, we were met with a welcome smile, but that was about it. No staff were available to do anything apart from the young reception desk manageress who filled in on every job going. Bless her smiles through gritted teeth. Forget this place for a coach tour. It is all self service,... more
