Rooms need refitting - only worth considering as an alternative to a 'travel hotel'. more

...a notably warm welcome, having previous visited twice, and looking forward to coming back. A modern environment, but an old-fashioned, caring, hotelier's welcome. Total hospitality and a warm welcome from all the staff, especially Pravin and Niko...nothing was too much trouble,...made to feel 'home from home'. Record-breaking checkin took less than 1 minute, and all personal preferences pre-empted by the... more

Stayed one night as part of a Legoland deal. Having read the reviews here I was expecting the worst, however it turned out to be a really pleasant experience. Staff were professional yet friendly. The room was clean and well-prepared with tea/coffee facilities, biscuits, toiletries, and a huge LCD TV. Breakfast was good with a wide range of choices from... more

supposed to be 4+ hotel -furnishings in rooms and bar areas were very shabby and needed good clean or replacing-restaurant evening meal was apalling -choice of 4 dishes-meat/fish/chicken/veggie-variations on a theme -chicken in different disguises-fish over 4 nights -was breaded pollock on 3 nights -veg hard and uneatable -very disappointing - staff were very helpful and effeicient but quality of... more

Because this was the Hilton, I was expecting something quite plush but found it shabby. The carpet was sticky & the TV didn't work properly. The window didn't lock properly but nothing was done to mend it. Comfortable bed though. We were on a leisure weekend called "Uncover Stonehenge" & that was excellant so I would recommend putting up with... more

My hotel room was very hot (no air conditioning) and got no sleep overnight the window only opened a few inches. My kettle was faulty and electrics made the TV turn on and off. Staff we unhelpful the only plus point was that they did replace the kettle. My colleague had to change his room 3 times because the room... more

Shame about the bathroom and overall dated room. The sheets and towels were marked. Floors dirty. But the staff is really nice. All I can think of is that I paid GBP 39.00 for one night incl breakfast and I couldn't expect The Ritz . still, won't go again. more

Stayed at the Hilton as part of legoland package, have to say it was clean and staff were helpful. I was suprised however that £50 was deducted from my debit card without my knowledge or permission which only came to light on my return home, this I have since found out is the policy of Hilton hotels which is then... more

My wife and I have stayed at many Hilton Hotels (including 5 star Hiltons) over the years but our favourite to which we regularly return is Basingstoke. We booked a break this time through Saga, and stayed from 17th-20th April, 2009. The hotel is situated in a most pleasant environment standing in its own grounds and in close proximity to... more

I stayed one night here while attending a meeting in Basingstoke. My company's travel office chose this hotel for me and, while it was convenient, I'd probably opt to go somewhere different next time. I hadn't stayed in a Hilton in the UK before, and was perhaps expecting something a little higher quality. The decor was tired, but not offensive,... more
