The service was good dispite the tatty and tired appearance of the hotel. The room had mismatched furnitureand peeling wallpaper , the en-suite was a good size but housed a macerator toilet that made a deafening noise even when not flushed. A nice touch of tea, coffee and biscuits were provided in the room. The TV was old and very... more

The hotel is a little quirky but in a really nice way. The lady who checked us in early afternoon did not appear to be over friendly but the staff who we saw later on were really friendly and helpful. The staff at breakfast time were also friendly and helpful although a little harrassed I think as the hotel was... more

It's always difficult to work out what a hotel is really like from some of the reviews. Don't let some of these put you off! The King Street Hotel was great - a little quirky, friendly, clean, quiet, central and with easy parking opposite. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were all really nice. We got a brilliant rate... more

WELL WHAT A PLACE..... I too had the misfortune of staying here recently - i will not be back. MANAGEMENT - were unhelpful, unfriendly & uninterested BOOKING - even though I requested a low floor room I was put on a higher floor than the rest of my party. BREAKFAST - how many times can you be asked what time... more

A group of us stayed at this hotel for one night in early October and I was extremely disappointed at the treatment received. The management seemed to find it a complete inconvenience that one of the members of our party was disabled, even though they had been made aware of this when the booking was initially made. The hotel is... more

Myself and a group of friends stayed at The King Street Hotel in Maidstone Kent this past weekend and suffice to say, by the end of the weekend, the phrase "Fawlty Towers" was a frequent occurrance! All of us were not only disappointed by the service provided but were actually shocked at how we, as guests, were treated and in... more

We stayed at this hotel for one night in August this year. We booked it so that we did not have to drive home having met our friends for a meal. The room was large and clean, although the decor was a touch dated! We were allowed to park in the car park opposite for free. The staff were friendly... more

We stayed overnight at the King Street Hotel on the way to France and were pleased with the hotel in every respect. The large room (four poster bed) was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and well cooked. The manager/owner (?) went out of his way to give us directions - which took us straight to our destination.... more

We stayed at the King street hotel on the 26.02.06. The location was great as it is close to all the amenities for a great night out (bars, restaurants etc) or a night in (on the end of a main road, not loads of traffic, supermarkets). The room was on the small side even for English standards but the bathroom... more

I am sorry you did not like our hotel. The hotel was converted from a Georgian rectory so all the rooms do differ in size. There is always a basket of fresh fruit on the sideboard. We tend to cook our bacon well done as we get many requests for crispy bacon. Baked beans are listed on our menu so...

Although hotel located on main road, heard very little noise from traffic and people on way home from night out and our room was front facing amd I'm a light sleeper! Room was clean and cosy, bathroom was spotless. Staff were pleasant, Good English breakfast that cured my hangover ! Best of all it took us 2 minutes to walk... more
