Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Apon arrival seemed very friendly and happy to help, as soon as we got into our room noticed that the room was abit on the dusty side and delapigated decore and furniture. The shower was something out of a back country hostel that hadn't bothered to be cleaned or maintained, broken units, yellow mouldy sealant and dirt on frames and tiles and even blood on the wall. Food in the restaurant was a completely joke if you have taste buds and the service was horrendous as having to speak to all members of the floor staff including bar to actually get someone to take our order..... begrudgingly paid £50 + for 2 mothers day roasts and 2 drinks.

We stayed here recently to attend a family funeral. It was suggested to us by a family member possibly because it was local if they had have actually stayed there I'm sure they wouldn't have. First the good stuff the Bar is nice as are the staff. That's it The rooms are as dated as the building the carpets are stuck to the floor the whole building stinks of damp. The room we stayed in was beyond dated mould on the bathroom window a toilet seat that was just about to come off the little waste paper bin was rusted the bath stopper was on a chain but the chain was not connected to the bath. The towels were old had that rough feel worn. A horrible out of place mirror behind the bed two grubby over head lamps and one bed side locker all the furniture looked like it came from a second hand charity shop. The wardrobe was one you would find in your grans house if you went through it you would end up in Narnia and that wouldn't be such a bad thing. The whole place is just a shambles. It's not by any means accessible so if your old or have knee or hip problems forget it. There's no reception no night porter food is dire thank god for McDonald's. I get it this is a listed building but there's 0 excuse for this it's not an acceptable today it wasn't an acceptable standard 100 years ago. Either the owners invest or let it go don't waste your money here even for a night. Staff and manager can only work with they have and it's a pity.

No receptionist for check or for the duration of our stay. Went to the bar to collect key with no proper check in service because they weren't sure what needed to be said to us. There was human feces on the outside of the toilet and lots of hairs in the bathroom. We made the bartender aware who apologised and said they would get a house keeper to clean it. But as we arrived back in the room that evening it still hadn't been cleaned. You can't hide mess with just plumping up the pillows and putting new towels on the bed. Emailed the hotel 3 days ago and didn't get a response. Mustnt be anyone working on the reception. I would not recommend this hotel and we will not be staying there again either.

A lovely clean hotel with the friendliest helpful staff! We booked this hotel, we were meeting friends for a catchup! After reading done if the reviews on here I was a little apprehensive! I shouldn’t have worried! We got to the pub/hotel early, we had lunch it was very nice although we did have to wait a bit of time for it because they were so busy, the lovely lady serving us offered us a drink on the house! Great customer service! She then directed us to the car park, which has direct access to the hotel! We checked in went to our room what a pleasant surprise clean plenty of hanging space along with lots of drawers! Tea coffee biscuits provided! After getting ready for the evening we went back downstairs for a couple of drinks before we went out! We served by the friendliest staff! We just made it back to go through the pub to our room! I even got a glass of distilling water on the way up! After a great nights sleep we went down to breakfast, served by a lovely again friendly waitress the breakfast was freshly cooked and very nice!! We would definitely stay here again Just one little moan the shower head needed attention, I’m sure if we had mentioned it they would have sorted it out Thanks for a warm welcome and a great stay

I booked a superior room but it definitely wasn't one. A small double so was disappointed in that on first arrival. Room needs updating and was very cold. Bathroom very very cold and basic. Definitely needs updating everywhere but the hotel/bar very nice "quirky" car park on site which was a bonus not having to use a multi storey one in the centre. Overall location great for what I needed, but room wasn't to my satisfaction

Went for Sunday Lunch as could not get a table anywhere else, my partner had a roast and I had a burger. Plus side - lovely old building, down side was it was probably the worst meal in a pub that I can remember. I've had better burgers from a greasy old van. I really think the management should go and eat out at different pubs that do a good lunch, and compare what they are offering for the same price. I have learnt my lesson and will book in advance at a place that does good food in future.

Went for Sunday roast today at the Bull and Victoria in Dartford. We booked at the last minute. Best Sunday roast we’ve had. It was like home Sunday roast, so reasonably priced, with pudding. Children Sunday roast huge. Highly recommended.

Our company put us up in this "hotel" for our time working in Dartford. The rooms were clean but dated, and the tv didn't work for 2 days even after asking it to be fixed. I am disabled and although not on the top floor had quite a few stairs to climb to get to the room, with no help from the staff. It is in the center of the town so can be noisy in the evening and morning depending which side you are on. And some of the people using the pub were a bit how can I put this nicely - Strange and didn't feel safe in the bar of an evening on my own.

Stayed at the Vic and Bull for 3 nights while arranging a family home in the area for re-sale, so it was very much a working trip. We stayed in room 109 which was lovely, really comfortable and spotlessly clean. Each evening we ate in the bar/restaurant and the food was excellent. It’s a very friendly place, the staff are welcoming and it strikes just the right balance between hosting a visitor who wants peace and quiet and someone who wants to strike up a conversation in the bar. I’ve visited on my own before and can highly recommend this hotel for feeling safe as a woman, I do think this is such an important factor when finding somewhere to stay. Overall this is just a real treasure of a hotel. I cannot recommend highly enough.
