Stay here a lot for work. The hotel is in the pretty town of Rickmansworth with plenty of pubs and restaurants to visit and is ever so pleasant to skip around on a fine summers eve. Sadly the long island exchange is a tired, damp and noisy hotel. It needs so much TLC, it's a shame. However the food there... More

We got a great offer for this hotel (£35 for 1 night for 2 of us) and only stayed the 1 night to attend a party nearby. At first sight the rooms are far from luxurious and give the appearance of not being that clean but I have to admit the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was a... More

If you get one of their cheap weekend offers then this hotel is excellent value for money. Room is adequate with one of the most comfortable beds that I have ever slept in, tea/coffee making equipment, satellite tv & trouser press. Breakfast was full English and you can help yourself to fruit, cakes etc. It is just across the road... More

I've just come back from a 3 day, 2 night stop at this dump!! if you read my other reviews you will see that I've travelled quite a bit and won't write a bad review unless warranted. The outside hasn't got any kerb appeal at all, the staff were nice enough even though they clock off at 10pm and don't... More

this hotel is in dire need of tender loving care and a good eagled eyed house keeper. Location is great and the staff efficient (altho' the breakfast staff need training), Stayed in 216 which was clean with a new carpet, bathroom old.

This is a budget hotel in the style of Travelodge (in fact better than many central london travelodges I have stayed in..) Its run by Old English Inns. Looks shabby from the outside but our room was very clean; everything worked and was present incl tv, hairdryer, heating, lighting, tea and coffee facilities etc. Bedding was spotlessly clean and comfortable.... It's run down and basic - threadbare carpets , bathrooms need total refits .But the bed is comfy . For £45 including cooked breakfast it just about acceptable for 1 night on my own . Except they had run out of eggs for breakfast - it's not like they don't know how many are staying . Could be good if... More

We stayed here for one night and was given room 112. As I walked through the corridor I noticed a terribly strong smell of damp, shabby carpet and wallpaper. And the room was worse. The bathroom ceiling was covered in mould which came down the tiled walls and all along the bath. Straight away I requested a room without damp... More

Long Island served exactly what we needed, a place to stay. However it was only borderline acceptable. It was a little unclean and has broken lights in the bathroom. The room was ok and the bed comfortable enough to get a good nights sleep on. The staff were useless. When we checked in the girl at the desk was very... More
