Stayed over night here and had breakfast the following morning , The room was ok nothing special just a standard room but was very disappointed with the breakfast , Bacon looked under cooked and the eggs with very snotty, My husband said his was pretty cold but didn't stop him eating it , If we are up in Lancaster again we will try the restaurant over the road next to the premier inn.

Excellent budget option, really convenient location for a stop off on the way to the Lakes. Good breakfast, playground for younger kids, lots of puzzles and games so really good for families. Rooms were clean and comfy, nice toiletries and a good shower. Couldn’t ask for more for the price.

Please thank Lauren and other members of staff for a very pleasant stay. We stayed for 2 nights - due to a family funeral in Morecambe. The facilities are first class. Especially swimming pool - geared for everybody including disabled. Steps going into pool. - wonderful. The leisure centre includes steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. A very good choice on the breakfast menu. Something for everybody. Cooked breakfast includes black pudding.Yummy.Not every bodies choice. Staff were very attentive to their customers needs. I was very impressed after a lovely dinner,we chose ginger and pear tart/cake. Delicious ,but unfortunately my friends desert missed out on the pear. I mentioned it to the staff - who straigtaway said he would put a reduction on my bill.Thank you

Stayed here for one night on a trip down from Scotland. I have been here twice before on business as well. The good part is if you need a quick stop over on a journey on the M6 this location is good, 2 mins to junction 34. That's all I can say that's good. The rooms are fine except ours this time had a floor stand lamp with no base just left leaning up against the wall. A real safety hazard especially if you have kids. The breakfast here has always been poor. I did email the manager and got no response. The staff (except the lady serving the food who was very nice) don't know how to smile, say good morning, no interpersonal skills. Today I decided I'm not going here again as the apple juice and orange juice had been watered down, the apple juice massively so. It was disgusting. I am a diamond card holder for this hotel chain and this is the worst I have stayed at. They just don't really seem to care. If you are a business user it's probably ok (although there is a premier inn nearby that's better and cheaper). If you are traveling for leisure I suggest try somewhere else.

We came for the Fawlty Towers weekend which was great and no doubt very profitable for the hotel. I really like the Holiday Inn brand and, as usual, the room was a great size and large and I slept well. The food was disappointing for the afternoon tea, with far too much butter on the all white bread sandwiches, and no cream on the scones (but loads of butter). Dinner was much better and the meal served was delicious. Like another guest I was unhappy paying £28 for a bottle of wine and then another £2.80 service charge. I have never seen this charge added in a bar and they know guests will be too embarrassed not to pay it, but Holiday Inn should surely pay their own staff rather than expecting guests to pay high prices and also subsidise wages. It would also have been helpful if the hotel had called last orders in the function room or told guests they could order after 11 if staying at the hotel. Breakfast was good but they need a lot more staff as many items were not refilled and plates not cleared. As I left I counted 10 dirty tables.

Response from IHG Service, Owner at Holiday Inn Lancaster, an IHG Hotel
Responded 6 days ago
Dear Sequin, Thank you for selecting our Holiday Inn Lancaster while visiting Lancaster and for providing feedback about your experience. It's a pleasure having you as our guest. I am truly sorry you did not experience an exemplary stay due to the service of our staff and the food served at the afternoon tea. This is certainly below our usual high standard of service. Please be certain that I have noted and forwarded your feedback for the management to improve. In the middle of your experience, I am glad to know that our room's sleeping quality and the quality of our breakfast were still appreciated. Please grant us the opportunity to prove ourselves again. Best Regards, Ben W. Case Manager IHG Hotels and Resorts Service

We went to the Fawlty Towers comedy night and the show was brilliant. As for the hotel we had to queue for ages to get served at the bar and was faced with a 10% service charge for the privilege of waiting for ages to get served. They ran out of numerous drinks including rose wine and Stella. The DJ was supposed to finish at 12.00 and finished 45 minutes early. He never spoke a word and was not particularly good. (despite many complaints) The management of staff was totally disorganised. The bar stopped serving draft beer at 11.00. Considering they knew in advance that 120+ people were going the organisation from the holiday inn was dire. Why charge 10% service charge when you go to the bar and then have to wait for ages!!!!!!

Probably the worst hotel that Ive ever book just try to imagine our booking time is 13:00 ask the receptionist if we can check in since its just only 15 minutes left before 13:00 they just told me that they are not sure if I can check in however we are on their lobby early 2 hours and they will tell on us the room is not ready yet, probably if I can provide Zero ratings I will gave them Zero bad experience on the first day.

Response from Lucy Swift, General Manager at Holiday Inn Lancaster, an IHG Hotel
Responded 4 weeks ago
It seems like the receptionist at the IHG hotel informed you about their standard check-in time being 3 pm. It's essential to note such policies to avoid misunderstandings and ensure a smoother experience. All IHG hotels have a standard 3pm check in that’s why your room wouldn’t be ready at 1pm

I can only write from my own experience and I had a very pleasant and comfortable two night stay. Room was warm clean and tidy. Plenty of tea and coffee, etc in room. If you wanted more it was available at reception. Breakfast was actually very good. Plenty of choice and well cooked. Nice bright uncluttered breakfast room. As vegetarian plenty of choice. In the evening I had the small macaroni cheese both nights. Plenty for me and served piping hot. Perfect. Plenty of free parking. Register at reception. A welcome break while visiting hospital to save motorway driving for a few nights. Didn’t try leisure centre, maybe next time. Thank you

Team members Ohneakah, Bryn, Lewis, Yasmin, Sophie, and Ellie in reception made me very welcome, they were extra helpful with any requests and took a lot of care over every detail. Sam & Reece in the pool / gym area helped me to make good use of the pool and sports facilities on a recent stay.
