If it weren't for the fact that they price matched the £37.50 price i found after i had booked for £43, it would have been one star. It isn't all the hotels fault though, but mainly it is. When we were looking for a hotel, on booking.com, this hotel looked pretty ok, so we booked at £43 for the night,... More

I really think the Royal Kings Arms is getting a bit of unnecessary criticism from some reviewers. Sure, it could certainly benefit from some investment in renovations, etc, but for the price that you pay it is great value for money. The hotel is really well located just a short walk from the train station and right in the centre... More

Stayed here for a number of nights in March and April, and had an excellent experience. As other reviewers have noted some the decor is a little tired in one or two places, but it has an abundance of character and everything works just fine - even the antique lift! Some of the rooms are very nice, especially as the... More

Me and partner booked a one night stay over the Internet then read the reviews on this page. The feel of them wasn't good but I'm very glad I ignored them. I feel the hotel has a historic charm and fits in well with Lancaster. It's in a great location and liked the idea of the excluder windows. They kept... More

I have to agree with other reviews that this hotel appears tired and old with very dated fixtures and fittings, but when you consider it a listed building in a city centre, its not doing so bad. I booked a very reasonably priced single room on the same day as I was arriving. I struggled to find the complimentary car... More

We chose this hotel over the likes of Premier Inn and Travel Lodge, because of it's character. The building looked so beautiful from some of the pictures we had seen online. The location of the hotel was perfect for us and it had some lovely views over Lancaster Castle and Priory. The one thing that we were extremely pleased about... More

Centre location with parking very good. We had a comfortable one night stop. The building is old with a lot of character and cannot be compared with the likes of Premier Inn but the service was very friendly and little extras like tea making & free internet a welcome bonus. Breakfast was excellent and served with a smile. We would... More

We visit Lancaster every 6 - 8 weeks to visit family and by far this is the best option and value for money. The Holiday Inn and premier Inn are soulless, yes this needs tlc and breakfast was somewhat chaotic but it had character and wasn't on an industrial estate ... Oh and it cost £40! Yes it was noisy... A bank holiday weekend stay, and for the price it was good value. Very good location and if you are able to get a free car parking place, great for wandering around on foot. But it is such a shame that the hotel has been neglected by Oxford Inns and now Bespoke. It is clear throughout the hotel that maintenance... More

That you for posting your comments following your recent stay at The Royal Kings Arms. Wonderful hotel for value, everything in the room you could need. I have a yorkshire terrier no extra charges applied which is very unusual. Would recommend 100%. Friendly staff and location for early train/ shops is ideal.
