I recently attended my friends wedding at this awaful hotel. The wedding it's self was ruined by the incompetence of the staff. When calling back and trying to speak to the manager, we were told on several occassions that she was not available. The room was absolutley fithly; old curtains and carpet which still stank of smoke even though it's... more

The Hotel benefits from a huge carpark and is a 10 minute walk from the town centre. Staff were generally good in particular friendly bar staff. One waitress on at Breakfast was excellent, the other was dire and uninterested. The Restaurant and Bar area decorated in a style that suits the hotel but some furniture looks a little dated. The... more

Some of the reviews here are correct, The Station Hotel is dated and is crying out for some money to be spent on it, but saying that i found it had a touch of the old world charm about it, maybe because some of the all time greats have stayed there such as Bing Crosby and the screen favourites Laurel... more

Hotel was extremely dated, we were also greeted by very bad smell, fella thought it was supernatural but it put me off my dinner! Entered room and eventually got used to smell but could not get over poor decor and noisy traffic! Bathroom was appalling! Old grey CARPET in bathroom and shower was an ancient monstrosity which wasn't used for... more

Hotel could do with modernisation but it adds to the 'spooky' feel, the staff were overal OK however had a bad experience with the duty manager who was rude and very abrupt! For this reason not somewhere i would go back too. more

I stayed at the Station a year or so ago and it was a great night. We went specifically for the ghosts and although we couldn't get the most active rooms we still had a great stay. The food was virtually inedible (but we arrived late and got leftovers including some corn on the cob that woul have bounced if... more

Stayed there 1 night for a wedding reception. Supposed to be a non-smoking room but the room smelt like an ash tray. Def needs redecorating everything just looked old & in need of replacement. Did not bother to complain only there for the i night, but would not go back. Another wedding guest was woken up by people fighting outside... more

I found the staff on arrival extremely friendly and helpful and check in was quick and easy, room we stayed in was 214 (the supposidly haunted one) although I think my partners snoring must have scared any spooks away as we didnt see any ghosts! rooms were spacious and clean with good tea and coffee making facilities. the hotel restaurant... more
