An English Bed and breakfast. The owner was friendly and I guess the price was OK - £45/room for 2 people. The room was however compact. It's an old cottage and the cieling was very low - only 6'2" high with a big wooden beam along the middle giving about 5'5"head room. Nasty when trying to negotiate the room especially at night. We couldn't seem to open the windows as they were locked, which was needed as the room was a bit smelly from damp or something similar. The smell could have been due to the shower room which has no windows and only an extractor fan. The bathroom was also small with the toilet jammed up in one corner so that you had to sit on it at an angle. The room was reasonably well appointed for a B & B with tea and coffee facilities, remote TV, sofa and desk , alarm clock and small hanging area. The bed mattresses were probably very cheap.
