What can I say? On arrival, the receptionist was reasonably friendly, and the immediate impression was of a semi-posh 1930s interior. Looking good ...... That's where the positives end! Away from the reception and bar/restaurant, The Earl has the feel of a house that needs remedial scrubbing. The dark carpets in the hotel require steam cleaning or complete renewal -... more

We stayed on business and were met by a very friendly but professional night porter who went out of his way to welcome us and let us in and out (when we ventured over the road to the local pub, which was also nice). The room was luxurious but a little cold as not many guests staying when we were... more

Stayed for a week on business. The room was a little dated however staff seem to be friendly and of good humour. Price was a little steep but it serves one of the best breakfasts. more

We recently stayed at this hotel and i would safely say in all my travels this has been the worst experience ever.. Just avoid this hotel like the plague... The staff were the worst I have ever met the room had no heating working at all and was dirty, damp and outdated. I could go on but it would take... more

I wasn't sure about this place after seeing some of the reviews, but having to go to Doncaster to do some family tree research and not having a vehicle, I was looking for a decent place in the city that was convenient for walking and the city buses. The lobby was in need of a bit of a sweep (which... more

Where was everyone? I stayed here for one night and it was fine. Nice room, quiet despite being on a main road. No-one ate in the restaurant so I went elsewhere. Breakfast seemed to be freshly cooked and it was good and hot. I can't understand why no-one else was here! more

Stayed here with my children while visiting relatives despite the mixed reviews. I was very pleasantly suprised having two sons who aren't angels the staff where very paitent and treat my children as adults without talking down to them as most hotel stff often do. The children where treated as adults and behaved like little adults they are already nagging... more

The Earl of Doncaster is certainly my first choice hotel and would most definately recommend it to anyone staying in the area. The Earl has a charming personality that boasts a unique art deco theme, which is superbly demonstrated throughout the hotel. It is clear that customer perception is of most importance to the hotel as the cleanliness and general... more

I stayed here with my husband last November (it was his birthday!) We checked in no problem and the room was well laid out and clean. The evening meal was good and we enjoyed a few drinks in the bar afterwards. The staff were all helpful and pleasant and we felt we got good value for money. If we go... more

I stayed at this hotel back in April 2006 whilst away on business in Doncaster. It is situated about a 15 minute walk from Doncaster town centre where there is plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. The hotel has a small carpark and although the reception looks a bit scary with black marble and pink neon lights... more
