We have had a lovely stay here and the room, bath and soft furnishings are excellent. The breakfast and breakfast staff were absolutely outstanding! Having said that we wouldn’t have paid full price for the stay. We booked 3 nights for the price of 2 and that made the stay around the price per night we would have paid. We were in the room above the restaurant which was noisy, especially during the evening (quiet by 11pm Saturday night) and we could also hear loud music and movement from the room above. The website also promises a bottle of fizz if booking two nights direct but we were told on arrival that we wouldn’t get it as we already had 3 nights for the price of 2 and it was a great deal already. Maybe making a caveat on the website with the offer would be a good idea so everyone knows it is not to be used in conjunction with any other offer to avoid any disappointment. For the price I would have expected a Smart TV and some bubble bath for use with the bath.

I wanted to find somewhere special for my girlfriends birthday treat. After a good look around and reading the reviews I decided on Woolmarket House. I am very glad to say it was an excellent choice. Nothing was to much trouble especially after I had to change the dates of our stay at the last minute. On our arrival everything went smoothly, the self check in was easy to follow and our room the Snowshill was beautiful. The flowers and Fizz all in place and made our stay perfect. The room was toasty despite the -4 outside temperature. The bed was huge and very comfy and the shower very hot, just as you would want it, We had breakfast in our room on the first day and it was served promptly and more importantly hot and delicious. The following 2 days we went to the breakfast room and service was very good, we tried everything on offer over our 3 mornings and could not find fault with any of it. The location is ideal, with everything within walking distance. We will without be back, Thank you to all the team who made our stay a memorable one.

Our second visit to this accommodation, a beautiful decorated room with small lovely extras that make it a lovely place to stay. Excellent location giving you access to chipping Camden High street shops and restaurants, Breakfast was of a high standard and good choice Sharron was very polite and helpful Stay was slightly spoilt by shower temperature Luke warm at best and room chilly , that should be of a better standard considering the cost of the accommodation

I always write honest reviews with positives and negatives, and try to be as fair as I can. The positives … The rooms at this establishment are exceptional. If you’ve ever stayed at a Crazy Bear, then this is on par. We had the room above the restaurant, and whilst other reviews have said it was noisy it really wasn’t that bad, and was beautifully decorated. The freestanding bath in the bedroom was a gorgeous plus it was clear that there was a lot of attention to detail, above and beyond what you would expect for a standard B&B. The location is central in Chipping Campden which is ideal and parking is easy. The negatives … Whilst some people have said that there is no front of house and you have to find your own way into your room, this for me was not the major drawback to this B&B. The breakfast part of this B&B was astoundingly appalling. I have never experienced a “ breakfast situation” like it before. We were told to pick a time to eat breakfast, given the choice of 8 am or 8:45 am. We chose 8:45 am. We were supposed to choose the food that we would like to eat for breakfast the night before, but the instructions were unclear. Two of our party chose breakfast and the other two did not because they weren’t sure what to do with the clipboard left for them. When two people in our party of four turned up the next day to breakfast, in a nutshell, one got their breakfast and the other had theirs retrieved out of the bin (the hosts words, not ours!). Can you believe the host actually said “Well, we’ve thrown your breakfast away, we will have to retrieve it out of the bin.” ? Neither could we. We were reprimanded for not showing up on time, and for four of us, not turning up. We could not believe it until the Sunday morning when the same thing happened again. We were five minutes late for breakfast and arrived to find the food on the table and cold. One of our party did not make breakfast all weekend, and when she left on Sunday morning, was greeted with “Oh we’ve not seen you before!” We have paid for bed and breakfast, and if we choose not to have breakfast, that is our prerogative. Just because we don’t adhere to your strict timescales of sitting down at exactly the time you have requested does not mean you can reprimand us in this way. For £500 for two nights, per couple, it ended up being a very expensive experience that left a bitter taste in our mouths. Not one to be repeated. My suggestions for this enterprise are that they either get rid of their breakfast or they get rid of their staff who serve breakfast. There are far better places to go for breakfast in Chipping Camden.

It's hard to improve on Tammy G's review above, which describes so well the experience at Woolmarket House. The quality of the room decoration is exceptional - very comfortable, relaxing, retaining all the character of this old and quite stunning building, brilliantly converted into spacious and welcoming accommodation. Sarah's welcome to our breakfast encapsulated the warmth and quality of the way this place is run. The breakfasts are indeed superb. But Sarah's help with explaining the origins of some of marvellous artwork on the walls throughout the building helped us follow that up with local artists. A truly memorable and relaxing couple of days here, and walking the town/village plus à visit to marvellous Hidcote Garden (NT) just up the road made the perfect day. Thank you Sarah and your team for all your special care in making this a special occasion for us. Barry and Roselyne Arden Boulogne sur Mer, France.

Having visited Michael’s restaurant over the years, we decided to stay in the Woolmarket. Firstly this is not your run of the mill accommodation, we found it to be so personal and exquisite we didn’t want to leave. Sharon is the perfect host and could not have been more welcoming. So many personal touches in the rooms with water bottles, bottle of fizz and fruitcake. The breakfast choice is nothing but exceptional, when it arrives it is truly something to behold. Presentation, quality of ingredients let alone portion size (you do not need to eat for the rest of the day) is perfect. The king size bed was seriously comfortable and the room so clean and very well presented. Every single need was met on this trip, so much so we booked another stay whilst we were there. As a lover of boutique accommodation, we feel this will be our forever choice for the cotswolds. The location is perfect, so much to see and do on the doorstep. Chipping Camden is our favourite location a perfect mix of history, nostalgia and architecture. A huge thank you to Sharon and her team, who made our stay one to remember. We are so looking forward to spending New Year with you, thanks again for everything. I cannot recommend this little beauty enough, it really is a cut above the rest ❤️

The location was perfect in Chipping Campden for staying in a quiet lovely village or touring the Cotswolds. Our room was lovely and spacious. Very easy checking in and had some lovely fruit cake in our room at our arrival. We met Sharon at breakfast the next morning. So gracious. The Breakfast was lovely lots of choices and you must try the porridge . We loved the porridge so much that she gave us some to take home 😀 I highly recommend staying here. Thanks Sharon

The Woolmarket House is perfectly located on the Main Street thru the town of Chipping Camden, with free parking on the street in from of the B&B. The rooms are good sized and vary by size room to room. Modern bathrooms. Breakfasts are ordered the night before and cooked to order. There are 4-5 restaurants within a five minute walk

I’ll admit when we walking down the slightly scruffy ginnel to find the place I was slightly apprehensive. You arrive to basically a door with instructions stuck on the front. I’d read the email and knew the code for the key box which when you have entered the main door,a bag with your name on containing the room key is waiting. We made our way to our room on the first floor overlooking the main street. The room was lovely with a large freestanding bath. The bathroom is only small but perfectly adequate for a two night stay and the lighting is good. We had booked two nights directly with the hotel which gets you a bottle of Prosecco. There was no sign of this and no one about when we arrived. The bag with the key contained a breakfast menu which you complete and leave on the breakfast table. We chose to have breakfast in our room. The breakfast room is basically one large table. Whilst I would consider myself to be a sociable person I don’t really want breakfast round a group table with people I don’t know! The only times available were 8 or 8.45. All the menus out had ticked 8.45. Not a moan but if you’re away it’s nice to have a relax and I think these times personally are too early. You have a one hour window for breakfast and that’s it. That said the breakfast was good and it was nice having it in the room watching the world go by. I also mentioned the Prosecco at breakfast and this was in the fridge when we got back from our day out. The hotel is in a great location for walks and exploring the local area and we had good meals at Michaels which is below and the eight bells inn. Overall we had a great couple of days. If you’re expecting a hotel in the usual sense with a reception and a bar and staff on hand then this probably isn’t the place for you but if you want somewhere nice and central and are happy to do your own thing then I would highly recommend.
