Haven't stayed much at the luxury end in the past, but after paying 170UKP for room only we balked at an extra 20UKP each for breakfast. Nice warm welcome, but when I asked on arrival where ice was to be had I was informed that it was available, but would cost 5UKP. Not sure what US visitors would make of... more

Staying at the Lowry for work during Conservative Party Conference. Despite the hotel being very busy the service was excellent - every request met immediately, and staff incredibly courteous. Together they made what is a gruelling experience so much easier. Full marks and big thanks! more

I must admit, I did very much enjoy my time at the Lowery -- the rooms were spacious, amenities fairly nice and gratuitous, the quality of service great... that is, until I met the head concierge. He was a very surly man and hard to deal with at times, and judging by some previous reviews of the hotel, I was... more

We booked into this hotel having stayed in its former sister hotel, St Davids in Cardiff. We were absolutely amazed to discover that the 'spa' hotel did not have a pool, a steam room or even a jacuzzi. There was a sauna. The fact that 'spa' is used to advertise it is somewhat misleading as the only real water facility... more

We needed to be in Manchester for a couple of days - and booked this due to its star rating and company pedigree. Good greeting, excellent room, wonderul location. Got canal view room we requested (the city view room was not the heart of city - drab carpark) Downsides: 1) bathroom size and layout dated now for 5* standards (shower... more

This hotel was pure luxury....the service was impeccable from the moment we arrived. Our room was lovely...even if the city view was of the car park..but it was huge with a dressing room and a lovely chaise longe...and the bed was just so comfortable...i slept so well for two nights. There was a turn down night service and bottles of... more

As frequent visitors to this lovely hotel i feel qualified to write the following review fairly,as we have used the Lowry faciliteis, spa, restaurant etc almost since the day it opened. i feel very sad to say that we will not be returning due to the attitude of just one man, the head of concierge. Repeatedly over the years this... more

Dear Reviewer Thank you for posting your comments on TripAdvisor following your experience here at the Lowry. I am sorry to see we could only accomodate one of the cars in your party on the night, however as you will have seen due to the very high levels of business our car park and surrounding area were completely full. I...

Greeted on arrival and bags were taken to our room. Concierge/Reception extremely helpful. Room was minimalist and luxurious. A winning combination. Great access to city centre. Food was lovely but small portions and not great choice. Food/drinks very pricey but that's what you expect. We were always addressed by our names. Unfortunately our room was above a function room and... more

My husband and I stayed at The Lowry in June. It was to be our first stay at the hotel and I had called the hotel direct to make our reservation several weeks earlier. When checking the website for driving directions a few days before our stay I noticed there was a special package available which included a full English... more
