I'll start with a few positives: the restaurant was good, with generally a high standard of food in a nice setting, the location was great and the staff were friendly (if unapologetic). But then the negatives: The main issue for me was the lack of hot water - the best I could manage was a lukewarm shower one afternoon, but otherwise the water was very cold, especially in the mornings. When brought up with the management team, I received a response of surprise that there could be such an issue - which was disingenuous to say the least given the number of similar complaints from other guests. The room was also cold with the a/c system unable to provide warm air. The bathroom was not particularly clean, with clear evidence of a previous guest's shaving around the sink area. There weren't any plug sockets next to the bed, just some USB slots in the light fittings, but I discovered these only provided power when the lights were on - so not particularly useful. The conference facilities were also not great, with limited power sockets meaning extensions leads were daisy chained together and a HDMI cable into the projector caused a trip hazard. The negatives outweighed the positives and I cannot recommend this hotel!

It was an amazing bank holiday weekend. Fantastic staff and service throughout the hotel. Clean and fresh room, nice food in the restaurant and some cool cocktails went down a treat. Well done to everyone and will gladly be back next time we’re in Manchester.

The only good thing about the hotel was the location, the rooms were freezing and not the cleanest, breakfast was ok, you can hear everything from your room the walls are like paper. The staff at reception weren’t very welcoming and the hotel rooms are tiny.

Generally poor. Staff are great. They help where they can, but they are not responsible for the fabric of the building. Stayed in a seventh for room. Quiet enough, but, freezing. The heating just blew cold air. Warm up in the shower?? Nope, no hot water. Bathroom sink blocked as well. Won't be staying here again.

First of all; we were given a room that was dirty. someone else had clearly been in there just before us as there was Burger King rubbish everywhere. Went downstairs to complain to Vanessa who said ‘okay we will clean it’. No apology from her and she just looked at us like we were stupid to complain. The lady next to her said the room was not up to standards and we should be moved to another room but not an upgrade as they were fully booked and ‘didn’t have upgrades’, which blows my mind when it comes to my experience of this hotel. When getting a clean room, after waiting for a lift for 10 minutes (one was out of order and they stop on every floor), bath towels were stained, plug sockets were in useless places such as on the floor and nowhere near bed. Having given up with the lifts, we tried to find the stairs (key word find). There was no signage and we ended up walking into a building site. Was given a complimentary drink which when we went to the bar, we were told it was table service so we took a seat at a table. 25 minutes later after being ignored and seeing multiple food order errors we managed to get a drink after waving at the waitress. Overall, this was the worst hotel experience I have had and will not be returning.

An interesting hotel in the city centre and only a few minutes walk from Manchester Piccadiily station. Right out side is the tram line and stops. One a plus sidw: nice staff, overall clean condition ( if you ignore the outside dated appearance ) so all good As per some other reviews, the sound of the trams and if unlucky , kitchen fans some what disturbed the sleep ( over looking the square)

The loudest Hotel room I've ever stayed in, could hear every car and tram like they were in my room! Could not get to sleep and when I asked to change room there was nothing they could do. No phone in the room and plug sockets miles away from anywhere useful. Bathroom smelt damp, and heating fans extremely loud also. I would not recommend this hotel if it can be avoided!

I stayed here for one night and upon arrival I arrived immediately behind a large party. They were taking ages and I was getting annoyed. The guy behind reception came over and offered me a glass of Prosecco. Another staff member then arrived, called Raj. He was excellent at service recovery and was really good at checking me in and offering me a drinks voucher and free breakfast. I was in my room quickly and I was impressed at how nice the room was and it was large. The room was quiet with a good view of the city centre. Breakfast next morning was good with some really nice staff, especially the lady checking people in for breakfast and the chef. The hotel has clearly undergone some improvement with reception now being on the ground floor and the rooms being updated. I would return.
