Colmar is a beautiful town. Seek out the Old Town and 'Little Venice'. For this, the Hotel Kempf is ideally placed — but that is all. No telephone, no TV, no lift (a twisting noisy staircase). The good news is that the staff are personable and speak servicable English. And the location is very central. Unfortunately, this doesn't compensate for the fact that our room was a tiny dingy cell with a window opening onto an airshaft with a miserable cat and litterbox at the bottom of it.
