Just had an extremely pleasant stay at the Hotel Mercure Chateau Chartrons. The rooms were very comfortable...wonderful sleep-inducing beds, and modern, clean bathrooms with both bath and shower. Breakfast was very comprehensive: if they've run out of freshly squeezed orange juice it is because my husband and I could not get enough of it. All excellent. The service was friendly... More

Adequate hotel in a scruffy part of Bordeaux but linked to the centre by bus direct from the front door or tram a 7 minute walk away. Good food though in restaurant with a decent breakfast and mostly friendly staff. More

Modern typical of the Mercure chain but about 20 mins drive from the main hub and sights of Bordeaux - there are better location to stay at. Clean, modern, tidy hotel with particularly helpful reception staff and a ten minute walk to the River for bars and restaurants. More

Rooms are a bit tight for a 4 stars hotels but the bed is very comfortable . The location is great : if you walk 5 mns on the cours Saint-emilion you arrive on the "quai de la garonne" with shops retaurants and Tramway facilities if you want to go into the very centre for 1.40 euros one way ...... Within the Mercure chain of hotels this is a gem. Close to the city centre (10 minutes walking, tram connects also), totally quiet but with the necessary bit of infrastructure (bar, restaurant, shopping facilities) in and around the house. The restaurant is pretty good, the stuff extremely friendly and helpful. Wifi is free, the Garonne with its quais and bars... More

The reception desk staff were brilliant - very friendly and very helpful. The room was great - huge bed and an amazing shower. Slightly odd layout with the toilet being separate. Sound-proofed windows so that even though our room overlooked the main road, we weren't disturbed by the noise. Secure underground parking. Hotel was not in the centre, but about... More

The hotel was great, very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast buffet, huge bathroom! It's a bit far from the city centre (25min walk) but has got a really cheap bike hire station in front. Would definitely stay there again! More

We only stayed one night but found this hotel very comfortable. We booked a standard room with shower and were upgraded on arrival. There was a slight hiccup at the beginning as the room had twin beds instead of a double. A quick trip back to reception sorted this out and we had a very nice room with both a... More
