My girlfriend and I booked a week in the St Remi, as neither of us are awash with money, and were drawn to the central location of the hotel, and the cheap rates (it's about €35 a night). The building is very old, and has lots of character, situated on one of the oldest streets in Bordeaux old town. The hotel staff are friendly, although they will not go out of their way to help you... The hotel is frequented by businessmen, creatures of the night, amorous young couples (you get the picture), hence, don't expect a quiet night. This hotel is not peaceful! However, all in all, we did sleep, it's clean, and incredibly convenient, surrounded with lots of restaurants, and if, like us, you did quite a lot of wine tasting, the money we saved on the hotel we were able to spend on eating in some swanky places and having a very romantic holiday. We won't go again, but we were glad we went. more
