We had the pleasure of staying for 3 nights in the Regent Bordeaux at the end of August last year. I am a member of the Goldpoints plus, the loyalty card scheme for the Carlson Hotels group which the Regent is a member. The company I work for also has a corporate rate with Carlson but unfortunately I was not... more

I had the pleasure of staying at the Regent in October 2009 and wasn't disappointed. I run a cycling tour company and used to avoid Bordeaux (and its dreary hotels) like the plague. The Regent was a wonderful surprise and brings an almost NY Plaza-like quality to the city. The hotel isn't just in the city center, it IS the... more

This hotel is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for; Fabulous Central Location - Grandeur - Attention To Detail - Cleanliness -(rooms are attended to twice a day)! - Excellent Food - Friendly Staff! This may be a bit more than most people would want to pay, but it is everything you need, and want in a... more

Finally getting around to writing reviews from my September trip to France and Italy. The Regent needs some help. As others have mentioned, the location is terrific. Very centrally located. It is a block from the tourist office (which has many excellent tours of the vineyards - I did the Sauternes tour and LOVED it), across from the opera house,... more

We booked our stay @ the Regent solely because it was listed in Traveler Magazine's "Hot" list. and was really the only legitimate "luxury" hotel option in Bordeaux, and is a very special place, indeed. You simply cannot beat the location: smack-dab in the center of the city, across the square from the Grand Theatre. We booked ourselves into a... more

Our 3 night stay at the Regent was lovely. The entire staff was very friendly and extremely accomodating. There were many restaurants just a block or so away from the hotel. The concierge will be happy to recommend a favorite according to your personal tastes and budget. However, the rooms were dark even with all the lights turned on. The... more

My wife and I spent at a corner deluxe room situated in front of the Grand theatre of this gorgeous & cleanly hotel for seven nights from check in on the day of 26th June to checking out on 4th July . We took a promotion rate, when making reservation, which can be obtained about 38% less from the list... more

This is a really good hotel ideally located opposite the Grand Theatre. It is, however, extremely expensive! Rooms and public areas are all very well appointed, and the food in the Brasserie is very good, and compared to the rest of the hotel prices pretty reasonable. Breakfast is over priced at Eu30 per person and fairly average. What really makes... more

The Regent is "The Plaza" of Bordeaux, the most central and luxe hotel in town. The rooms can be small, and the bathroom situation is a tad odd: the toilet is two doors removed from the sinks and tub/shower. Also, our room service was uneven: inedible salt-laden soup and so-so pasta. The public spaces are an unfortunate mix of classical... more

My husband and I took a train from Paris to Bordeaux and thought that the hotel looked beautiful when we arrived. The location is amazing. Right on the main square across from the Grand Theater and at the heart of the of the beautiful historic district - great for walking . We were given a room on the fourth floor... more
