We were a little apprehensive about staying in this hotel – a 3 star Mercure – but it turned out to be a very nice experience. We had a small room but with a lovely view of the seafront and it was well appointed. You couldn’t get much more central for the beach, shops and bus services and we would... More

This hotel is quite well-located, just across the street from steps leading down to the main beach, and the rooms are adequate, if rather small and functional. Contrary to what one reviewer has said, there is a lift to take you up to your room. During our two night stay, we were served by mainly very pleasant staff, but unfortunately... More

Great location, room and decor. For Biarritz, it represents great value for money. The only thing I would mention is that upon check-in the receptionist made an assumption that we were both in our 60s (think that there may have been some sort of discount available for older guests). The thing is, we're both in our early 50s, so we... More

The hotel is a great value, with a reasonable rate and good location. The desk and bar attendents were friendly and helpful. The one front desk person did not speak much English, but certianly made up for it with her effort to provide efficient an welcoming service. They even went out of their way to accomodate our small group one evening... We just stayed for one night at the hotel at the beginning of our holiday, having taken the train from Paris. Getting the bus from the station is easy and it stops very near the hotel. Although the price is quite high (we paid 170 euros for the room plus 32 for 2 breakfasts), we were very happy with our... More

Quick summary: this was a comfortable hotel, but felt overpriced for what it was and had a few flaws. It might be that it was the beginning of the July summer season when rates jump. We spent one night here on our way back to Paris (catching the TGV the next day in afternoon in Bordeaux.) The hotel is in... More

You can reach from the train station by bus. And you can also reach wifi service in your room without any charge(it is free). In front of the hotel, you can reach the beach to swin or surf. The GALERIES LAFAYETTE, shopping department store, is also 5 minutes walk from the hotel. More

This is a wonderful hotel in a wonderful setting. It was originally the Plaza Hotel in Biarritz, and Mercure has redectorated it in lovely art deco style. The staff is friendly and efficient. The breakfasts were wonderful. and it has a very friendly bar. One problem: Too many children. But the Friench, unlike Americans, are quick to respond if their... More
