We asked a shopkeeper how to get to the hotel, and luckely there was no other traffic in those one-way streets. The old wine cellar reception, restaurant is remarkable and surely a combination of history and romantic atmosphere with the christmas tree and other small lights. After dropping off the luggage, we went to the reserved hotel parking 200 m... More

We arrived at this hotel after dusk, going the wrong way down a one way road in a maze of winding, stone streets. We initially drove past the hotel and even when I walked back, knocked on the wrong door. The owner (presumably) kindly popped out of what I thought was a window or a cellar door, and let us... More

The hotel, a former 12th century abbey, is in the middle of the old town, near Notre-Dame basilica. The owners have tried to keep the building authentic while modernising it to provide a comfortable place to stay. We used it as a base for exploring the town and the countryside. Parking is available nearby and is not expensive. The hotel... More

This hotel is situated in the middle of the city with easy access to everything that Beaune has to offer. The rooms are small and there are a lot of stairs, but it is cosy, and the building is very old so what can you expect. The only thing is that if you don't like churchbells ringing at 7am.... stay... Stayed there for several days in the fall of 2010 and loved the room and the location. Parking was a little challenging. Restaurant was very nice and the owner very gracious . It does lack for an elevator but we were helped with our luggage . All in all I would highly recommend this hotel. Gregg McLanahan Camp HIll ,... More

I can't say enough fabulous things about ABBAYE de Maizieres. A few things to note..this is a 12th century monastery with winding stairs, no elevator, and a few amenities missing that you might be used to in the states. In saying this...you are not in the states and none of these things dampened our stay whatsoever. The owner, Bruno, and... More

Stayed one Friday night so we were in town for market day. Parking tricky but managed a spot nearby. Staircase was daunting but room and bathroom were large by French standards. Breakfast was adequate but reception/seating area much smaller than expected. Great location for market day especially with drizzly weather. Didn't have dinner there as it was an easy walk... More

This is very expensive for the standard of accomodation offered .The rooms are small [not a surprise in this old building ,]but I felt the decor was dated, shabby and quite make shift.Bathrooms not that clean ,shower over the bath had no shower curtain ,tiling dirty and with obvious mildew . No hairdryer !, bed comfortable enough. Overall expensive for a... More

The location of this quaint hotel could not be better for visiting Beaune, a little gem in the heart of Burgundy: A few steps away from the Basilique Notre Dame and a short walk from the famous Hospices. The hotel itself consists of an ancient vaulted cellar now used as a magnificent dining room and reception area, and guest rooms... More

No doubt, the 12th century building, a former monastery, is amazing. The cellar, the winding stairs and the rooms with high ceiling... something really different to the usual hotel buildings. Some other things such as cleanliness were also quite different to the usual hotel standards - in a bad way! The room was not clean. The floor carpet, the bed... More
