Actually, we just walked up when we arrived in Chartres.
This was a cheap stop at the end of a 30-day road trip, before we turned in the car to go to Paris. We enjoyed Chartres as a daytrip in 2002, and knew it would be a good place to end the driving portion of our trip.

This hotel is in a great location but was pricey including 8 euros for parking in a minute parking area. The restaurant was closed and there was a lot of building work in the area. As we were there on a Saturday/ Sunday the building work caused no hassle and we had a good quiet night's sleep. Rooms were clean...

The Hotel de la Poste in Chartres is central for all the sights of this beautiful city but that is the only good thing about it! This 2 star Logis de France is tired with poky, scruffy rooms, a canteen for breakfast ( which was OK ) and laughable on site parking arrangements for which they make an extra charge....
