Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I made a bad decision. Booked into this hotel at 7pm on 26 sept for 5 nights. Had been on the road for a full day and was exhausted. I needed to check out the next day for reasons too long to explain here, and politely asked for a refund, offering to pay for two nights, only asking for three to be refunded. I checked out before 10am to be fair. The receptionist (may have been the manager very hard to say), told me to come back later or the next day as she needed to speak to her manager about my request, meanwhile I had forfeited my key. I kept turning up each day for news as I had forfeited my key and in my mind, if they had no intention of refunding my money, I would have had the right to hold onto the room key ?! The manager ignored me, was annoyed by me, hid from me, walked away from me. She told me to come back when she was not so busy. I eventually got a refund for one night only. This was advised to me on the evening of the 5 th and final night of our stay. It is an outcome but why does it feel so subpar? It caused us a lot of stress and they made me wait so long. I was also treated so poorly. Do with this what you will but out of principle I won’t stay in this hotel chain ever again.

I booked a superior room. The good point bed was large and comfortable. Bad points, no mini bar or safe as advertised on Expedia, large stain on carpet, paint peeling off walls and wood work, mostly wood grain furniture but wardrobe was an old white cupboard, bathroom sink was cracked, pink soap stains around bath, the toilet was in a seperate room the size of a small cupboard, my husband struggled to get in there. Location was great, very short walk to restaurants and bars. 20 minutes to cathedral Staff were friendly

Absolutely terrible rooms. Super dirty carpet & room. Broken doors. Air con doesn't work (quite warm in June). Has never been renovated since its creation. An absolute shame to rent such rooms !! Receptionist is very kind, but alone for 50 rooms over busy. Don't waste your time here. And not in the BEst Western place Drouet neither (another very low level unacceptable place). Chose any of all other hotels in Reims or outside.

I'd stayed here before so knew the score. A city centre hotel at affordable prices. Hotel has recently been facelifted so lookszamazing from the street but the inside is less up-to-date. Remember, if you want a centre of the city experience at budget rates then this is the hotel for you. Our room, 112, was a little tired. Extractor fans in separate bathroom and WC no longer worked, over-bath shower was fixed to spray the wall rather than the human, 2 electric sockets were faulty and the bedroom door was missing. Bed was comfortable - large twins pushed together. TV had no English channels, wifi cut out regularly and we could clearly hear the next door occupant urinating! Oh, and there was poo (merde) on the toilet roll cover - eugh! No kettle in the bedroom annoyed my wife. Car park was €13 a night but the security gate was broken and left open 24/7. Staff were friendly and helpful and a card in the.room from the CEO promised improvements in the near future. Did I mention it's right in the City Centre? Oh and I got a discount being > 60!

Room Tip: Avoid the expensive breakfasts - lots of nearby cafés are better alternatives.

This hotel was not only extremely well located being an easy five minute walk from the North exit of the the train station but in a nice neighbourhood with restaurants. Comfortable and clean, charming individual rooms with decorations of individual movies period we had the James Bond room. Great value for breakfast, elevator to help with bags I wish we had more time to stay in the town and this hotel. Don't hesitate to book here. About 15 min walk to older center village

Just stayed 4 nights. Large party... Staff only authorised the door cards for one night! So locked out on returning on second day. And then my door failed completely - flat batteries in the door lock - and they offered me a room change which I refused. Fixed the next day. Lift shudders re-assuringly. Breakfast is €13 Euros - hotel is in the city centre so venture out for better value. Entrance/corridor carpet is appalling. Looks like a major leak... (see photo). Whole hotel is tired, damaged skirtings painted over when they should have bern replaced. No English or German tv on my television. Parking is on street so only free from 7pm to 9am. Wi-fi is sloooow not fast as advertised. Rooms were grubby, my carpet looked badly stained and there was dust along skirting boards where the hoover couldn't reach. Lighting was poor. No USB ports. Decoration and grouting looked positively DIY. Staff were friendly and helpful. So maybe good as base for the less discerning cust.

The new facade does not match the dirty and run down interior. We stayed for one night and thank goodness we did! The entrance door was blocked and the doorbell did not work so we had to call the number on the door for someone to open the door which is not ideal to start with. We dropped off our luggage at 11am and returned at 16.15pm to check in - as check-in starts at 15.00 - we were surprised to learn our room was not ready even if we check-in started at 15.00! We were asked to wait so we waited for another 15min. The carpet at the entrance and reception area was evideny dirty so we braced ourselves in the hope that everything else would be clean. Unfortunately, it was just the beginning - the elevator was dirty and shabby. The room was on the 5th floor and the stairs were dirty and the wall full of damp patches! The worst part was the room - the carpet was not very clean, the wall paper above the beds was coming off, the wardrobe paint on the side was off too; one of the plastic white chairs had black stains, 2 of the sockets didn't work and there were leakage stains above the beds near the detached wallpaper 🙄.

Desperate need of renovation, dark dingy corridors, filthy old carpets, frames on the windows rotten beyond repair, windows don't close. Air con makes more rattling noises than a rattlesnake. No hot water on the night we stayed. Sad breakfast. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Really great location and price point. However despite booking a superior room we had a standard room and were told that they only have standard rooms. The interior decor of hallways and bedrooms is poor and view outside room was of other buildings. If you’re a vegetarian you can forget breakfast. It consists of ham, scrambled eggs and cake. However if you’re going to be out all day and just need a base then the location may tempt you!
