I stayed in the Etap at Besancon for one night during a journey by rail from England to Switzerland.

The hotel is ideally located for rail passengers, as it is immediately opposite the station.

Otherwise, what else can I say about the hotel? It's an Etap, with the usual, small, modular room. It has the usual double-bed-with-bunk-bed-
above, and the usual small bathroom, and the usual TV giving the usual French choice of CANAL+ or CANAL+...

But what does one expect from an Etap? You know exactly what you're going to get, and it delivers that perfectly acceptably. There's not even any point adding photos - the stock photos on their website show you exactly what you're going to get!

The good bit about this particular Etap was the breakfast. I was expecting nothing more than a croissant and a coffee; whilst there wasn't anything hot available, I was impressed by the fact that there were locally-sourced items such as apple compote. That alone gets... more
