The hotel is well situated in the center of the city. Large car park. Confortable and quiet rooms. facilities for meetings are well equiped : meeting rooms and places to work quietly in the lobby. The minus point but I recognise subjective is the variety of food : main dishes are a large variation of beef carot. The quality of the food is very good but once is ok, twice can be accepted but every day is too much.

We stayed here for two nights, as we wanted to have plenty of time to visit the Chateau de Fontainebleau, which is about a ten minute walk straight down the road. There is a car park on site, although when we arrived it was a Sunday afternoon and the hotel was very busy, we did manage to find one small parking space in the end. There is garage parking if the car park is full, for a small fee. We drove past the hotel the first time, as it is also called Demeures de Campagne, which was a bit confusing as we thought it was the wrong hotel. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful, which was good after our long drive. The room on the third floor was spacious and modern, although the bathroom had an over-bath shower (slippy bath) and was a bit dated. There are tea and coffee-making facilities (not all French hotels have these) with decent large china mugs, much appreciated after so many hotels provide paper cups. We usually bring our own teabags, as French hotels often only provide herbal/mint or lemon teabags. The room was a bit hot, despite the aircon. There is an attractive garden to sit outside and have a drink. We didn't use the pool or other leisure facilities, but there seemed to be plenty to do. We sat outside for dinner the first night, and inside the second night as storms were expected. We found the food better than some reviews indicate. I enjoyed two entrees and dessert as I often find main courses too filling. The pretty vintage crockery - mostly different and attractive designs - was a nice touch. We didn't have the breakfast as the area near the Chateau has several cafes. Fontainebleau was heaving and extremely busy when we arrived on the Sunday, so it was good to have somewhere to park. Monday was much quieter (note the Chateau is closed Tuesdays).

Despite a charming welcome we expected more from this somewhat run down hotel. A good location and comfy beds. Poor air con, winter duvets, weak over bath shower with no hand holds and slippery surface. Eccentric (at best) room furnishing.

This is clearly a business hotel or at least for those with business at Insead. It is situated in the leafy outskirts of Fontainebleau and is quiet. The outlook, front and back, is peaceful and there is a carpark. The lobby is modern and set up for those working at a computer. There is no check-in desk that adds to the informality and a small restaurant is present. There is also outside seating where we saw people working in the sun. It was a good 1st impression. Our room was also modern and comfortable but typical of this type of business hotel. You would not wish to spend a long time in it relaxing or working. The decor was minimalistic and not at all inspiring. The staff are helpful particularly with instructions of where to go in the area. It is a short and safe walk to the centre of town (about 15 minutes). This is a hotel that fulfils a purpose successfully but is not really orientated for tourist visiting the area although it is perfectly fine for a stopover on a journey.

Mercure normally don't expect too much, but this was one was kind of cool. The rooms are basic, no frill, but feel clean and comfortable. Liked the breakfast buffet, and the bar/dining area. Had a good time and you could feel the proximity to one of the very best business schools in the world. Probably it's one of the favorite places for those who attend executive education there.

What a great family hotel! We booked the ‘box’ room which was fabulous for a family of four. The service was always warm and friendly. The whole hotel faultlessly clean. I loved how breakfast had home baked pastries & other locally sourced items. The pool & gardens were a godsend for the children. Easy walk to town or chateau or bus stop to train station.

I don’t understand and they said that it is their way to do room service. I’m soooo disappointed is not worthy for the money that we are spending here . This is our toilet dirty with some marks

Set just a 10 minute walk to the palace the location is ideal. The entrance to the hotel is reasonably smart but once you leave the lobby it is very drab and in need of TLC. Room very dated. Shower over bath not easy to use as no slip mat nor handrails. Saving the worst to last - the food. Breakfast ok but dinner was appalling, the presentation sloppy and the content dire. With so many good restaurants within a short walk the hotel must raise its game.

The rooms are clean, the staff is helpful, but the breakfast is really below expected quality. The espresso machine is not working properly. The food variety is limited and doesn't match expectation out of such a hotel

It was a standard stay for one night, but everything was ruined by breakfast. At 8:30 a.m., the basic breakfast components were no longer available. No scrambled eggs, ham or salami, drip coffee (two empty machines). Empty jars with jams were no exception. There was a mess on the buffet table, e.g. the blue cleaning cloth lay there the whole time. Unfortunately, the staff did not see anything.
