My husband & I recently stayed here and really enjoyed it. This was our first trip to Europe and found the Rue Cler to be ideal for a "first timers" trip to Paris. Since we didn't plan on staying in our hotel that much, our only requirements was it was clean, we felt safe, it was a decent price and... more

Overall: Paris is expensive. Given that we had a decent stay here. Very basic room. Clean enough. Quiet enough. Bed was comfortable. Round pillow. Bathroom lacked a shower curtain. Not bad value. 80 euro for 2 people. No breakfast included. If you want their basic breakfast add 9 euro. No thanks. We went to a cafe for the same croissant/bread... more

Location, location, location. Just around the corner from the Metro. We walked to the Eiffel tower, the Hotel National des Invalides, and the Rodin Museum. Just great. The room was tiny, but clean and updated carpet ,bedspread and drapes. Glad we had only brought carry-on luggage because I don't know where we would have put large or numerous suitcases. A... more

We booked online for 3 nights but never got any confirmation. We emailed twice to get confirmation and never got a response, so we stayed somewhere else. Then we got billed for staying here even though we never did. We disputed with the credit card company and still had to pay. more

We had a room just above the front entrance. The English-speaking staff was friendly and helpful and allowed us to use the office computer to check email. The location was easy to find from the Ecole Militaire metro stop and the hotel is a pleasant walk from the Eiffel Tower. It is located near the Rue Cler neighborhood recommended by... more

We booked this hotel through Rick Steves and it was as described. The rooms were small but fair and the bathrooms were decent. The carpet was not very clean but for what we paid, the location was excellent. Walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and many other sights... Rue Cler is a fantastic street with great pastries. BEWARE.... Aside from... more

Serious upgrading and cleaning have improved this hotel since last year. In April '09 I found the hallways and stairway being fixed up and my single room was much improved with new carpetting in my room. The bed was too soft, maybe too old, but otherwise I was happy with the place. Nine Euros for breakfast, a bit much for... more

We found out about this hotel from the Rick Steves handbook. This hotel was walking distance from the Eiffel Tower which was nice. Our room was kinda small but not too bad. The bed was comfortable and the view was pretty. You could open these doors which had a balcony. There was nothing to step onto to but you could... more

Pros: there is a lift, sporadic aircon, it's cheap and it's in a good tourist location close to the Eiffel Tower. Cons: shabby, cramped, could do with refurbishment or at least a good clean, no kettle in the room, sporadic aircon. If you're looking for a budget hotel room that you're not planning to spend much time in, fine. If... more
