We stayed for three nights at the Paix Madeleine hotel, which is located in a good area. The hotel itself is average for Paris, although more expensive than some. However, the lady manager was very hostile and offensive to us, apparently taking us for Americans (we are Australian). A number of rules were quoted to us, including: - no food... more

Wow, we were very suprised at how unpleasant our stay was. The year before, we stayed at Hotel Leveque and loved it. But we didnt feel the same at this place. First off, the front office staff seemed only to care about smoking and watching the World Cup. I fellt like I was intruding them everytime I came up there.... more

My husband and I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the Hotel Paix Madeleine and will not stay there in the future nor recommend it to others. The reason for our complaint includes discourteous treatment by one of the staff, perhaps the hotel manager/owner, and the unsanitary conditions of our room. We chose not to order the hotel breakfast and... more

We stayed in Paris for a total of 5 nights. The hotel itself is small, but we found it safe, clean and had a very pleasant atmosphere. The staff was friendly and courteous. The area of Champs du Mars itself is very Parisian -- with small restaurants, boulangerie, brasserie, fruit and vegetable markets, etc. The plus about it is that... more

Didn't stay at this hotel, but don't advise anyone to try based on the way I was treated. My plans changed and I cancelled by reservation e-mail 2+ weeks prior to my planned stay. Much to my surprise, I was still charged a 115 euro penalty fee by de la Paix. Attempted to contact them to question this and ask... more

We stayed in the Paix for 4 days in total and enjoyed are stay for the most part. The rooms are a bit tiny but the bathroom is clean which is always a big plus. A few too many curly black hairs on the blankets for my taste however and we ended up kicking them to the floor before sleeping... more

We were so glad to pick this place out of the numerous selection of hotels in Paris. The staff are always willing to extend a helping hand. The hotel in itself is quite charming. It's not big, but it retains that old world charm that we were actually looking for in this trip. The lobby is just perfect for a... more

This place was chosen for our 1-week Paris trip becoz of the good reviews and the good winter deal they were offering at the time. It was the best find ever and I'm sooo glad that we chose this place. My room was number 23 and if I ever go back to Paris, I will want to stay in that... more

We stayed at the Hotel de la Paix for 2 nights in January and found our stay very pleasant. The room was decently sized and the bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was nicely attired and had ample showering and bathing facilities. The staff could not be faulted and were always smiling and willing to help (at any time... more

We chose the Hotel de la paix because it was in the locality that we wanted to stay in and because it was an economical three star with a/c in the bedrooms. We stayed for three nights and where well satisfied. The staff where friendly and helpful, the room was adequate and the included breakfast was ample. I would be... more
