I was relocated to this hotel after having a problem with my original booking. It was a last minute arrangement so I couldn't complain so my comments are probably generous compared to my attitude if I chose this place myself. The hotel is located close to the red light district, and have several metro stations close by giving easy access... more

I booked this hotel at an excellent rate via an international hotel website and was slightly apprehensive when I read other reviews. We stayed here for 4 nights in December and were given two lovely rooms on the first floor as requested (my wife doesn't like lifts). Both rooms were very clean and quite spacious for this type of hotel.... more

I spent the xmas break in Paris and stayed at the blackstone opera hotel. I must say the reviews about it on this site dont do it ANY justice...maybe the reviews were a while ago and the hotel improved...but the only valid comment is the small elevator, other than that i found none of the negative points mentioned. It is... more

Don't stay here if you are trying to impress your girlfriend, I made that mistake! As stated before I found out the photos displayed on Expedia were 10 years old from the receptionist. The fun started with the tiny comedy lift which i've got to admit had the pair of us laughing! The room itself was quite bizarre. It wasn't... more

My sister and I went to Paris and stayed at the Blackston for two reasons: price and location. As for the price, compared to other European hotel deals, you get what you payed for. The rooms are small, like most hotels in Paris. The mattress has lumps and holes that can ruin more sensitive people´s backs. The towels and sheets... more

Good: staff, location, breakfast, front lobby. Bad: torn wall paper, scrappy towels, ill-fitting doors and worst of all, wafer thin walls. You hear EVERYTHING the neighbours are doing/saying + the television. more

Kept meaning to write a review but never did... this was no 5 star place, but then again it never said it was and that certainly wasn't reflected in the prices. if yo are going to paris you are going to see the sights, not stay in your room. Staff were pleasant enough. Lift was a bit of a pain...... more

This has to be one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in., Our sixth-floor rooms was so cramped we needed to be contortionists to get in and out of the double bed which was in a space which would have been just adequate for a single bed. The hotel says it is an historic building. So is the... more

Got to be the WORST HOTEL we have ever checked into - and swiftly checked out of within two hours once we had found a real hotel!! First impression was that we had booked into a bedsit/doss-house with no in-house cleaner. We were too scared to pull back the bed linen for fear of being eaten alive. Would not have... more

When we arrived at the Blackston Opera we were met by the manager, who promised us a room 'full of Parisian romance'. When we reached our third floor room after a tramp up the dingy and claustrophic spiral staircase, we found the worst hotel room I have ever seen in my life. It was small, dirty and cramped, shabby and... more
