Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Third time I’ve stayed here. Great hotel, location and staff. Love staying here and would recommend. Close to metro, Arc De Triomphe and Trocadero. Great cafes nearby. Boutique hotel with large rooms and friendly staff.

I picked this hotel because I have stayed a number of times at the Melia in Granada and have always been satisfied. The Melia Champs Elysees, I found to be better and the location is very good for all the tourist attractions and the Metro. On this occasion I was visiting Paris with my daughters for a weekend break. I booked two rooms, a double and a twin. On arrival we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful reception personnel. Both rooms, were of a reasonable size and exceptionally clean. Yes, the bathrooms are small, but very clean and well equipped with hairdryer, ample soap, shampoo, conditioner and towels. Yes the room is noisy if you have the window open, but the noise of the city didn't bother me. The hotel is a short walk from the Metro and quite close to it there are also some decent restaurants for dinner, lunch or breakfast. It is many years since I have stayed in Paris, it's not a city I know well, but I was really happy with my choice of hotel in the main due the staff, cleanliness and the location and I would definitely stay again.

Wonderful hotel with wonderful staff as well. A shout out to Hellena of the Guest Relations team for her kindness and for going out the extra mile to always ensure that we were comfortable.

We had a courtyard-facing room on the second floor which was away from the noise of the street although we got the sense that the Avenue Victor Hugo, on which the hotel is located, wasn't that noisy. We were pleasantly surprised that the rooms are rather large as compared to the rooms we have stayed in in other Paris hotels.

We booked on a bed and breakfast basis and the hotel had a wonderful spread - from breakfast cereals, cold cuts, fresh fruit juices and a hot spread.

The hotel is located a few minutes from the Victor Hugo Metro station so it was a breeze to zip around Paris.

This was a very good stay.

Upon check in we were told that the room type we requested was unavailable. This is not the fault of the hotel but they were completely indifferent. When we asked for more towels( there were only 2 and we had 3 people in the room) the girl at the front desk said she only spoke French and Spanish- really?
The next day checking out we had our bags stored at the hotel until it was time to leave for the airport. There is no where to change clothes and the bathroom on the fiesta floor was filthy. A lot of money for one night in Paris, so many other amazing hotels.

Dear Zeekat123, first of all thank you for sharing with us your experience. We would like to convey our apologies if your experience with us didn't go beyond your expectation. I am very surprised to read that the lady at the reception only can speak French or Spanish, as all our team speaks english, I hope it has been only a misunderstanding. At Melia Hotels International hotels we have a strong commitment to excellence and we feel frustrated when we are not able to go beyond our guest`s expectations. We hope to welcome you back in order to change this impression you had and offer you the service you deserve. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any assistance you may need for your next reservation with us. Warm regards, Bruna Auditore Executive Assistant Manager

Pros
Friendly and helpful staff (recommending places to eat & ordering taxis).
Good location close to sites.
Nice hotel lobby.
Beautiful and spacious bathroom.
Nice teas and coffee provided.

…..
Cons
Room smelt of cigarettes when first entered had to open all windows.
Rooms & corridors could do with a refurb.
Walls thin, could hear noises from neighbouring rooms all night.
Shower changes between hot and cold.
No shower cap.
No iron in room (although note, you can book an ironing service the night before for a fee).
Internet signal bad on laptop.
Breakfast room too small for amount of people (I would suggest that they stagger the times that guests go for breakfast).
Room service for dinner advertised but not offered.

My stay here was ok. But for the fact that basic things were not met, and also given the price, I have to rate it below average.

No sound proofing at all, extremely noisy. And no sleep for us with a party starting at 3 am above our room. No working air conditioning. Should have been started today but still not working this evening. Not possible to open the windows because of the loud traffic day and night.
We moved to another room supposedly with less noise. Now we have a bathtub that is not draining and noise.
Horrible hotel.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for a 4 night City Break. Check in and out was quick and easy and we were made most welcome by the Reception staff who were helpful and pleasant. Beautifully clean and warm and the beds were so comfortable we were able to get a good nights sleep ready to explore the next day. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety. Perfectly situated for a City break. Restaurants near to the hotel were good too. Will definitely return in the future.

Hotel is fairly well located and has a very good breakfast (special kudos to Helena for being so nice with us and our son).

Stayed in a Junior Suite (which is apparently the larger room) and it was very nice for a couple and a baby, as it has 2 independent sleeping areas (bedroom and living room).

Regarding the rest, hotel is just like Paris: a bit too small in the common areas, but in the rest, all good.
