Following on from the last review, this hotel is terrible. We were the unlucky recipients of the "Breakfast" room... or to be more precise, room 14. The location could not be better. A choice of two Metro stations close by (Opera and Chausee d'Antin/Lafayette). The big department stores such as Printemps and Galeries Lafayette practically on your doorstep. Lots of eating places close by. Small but friendly hotel. The bed was excellent. We stayed here at the start of January for 3 nights- 2008. My parents had travelled to Paris two years earlier and had found that where they had booked was unclean and unsafe so the Tourist office suggested Hotel Helder Opera to them. A decent two-star hotel. Location is a major plus. Service is rather poor: the staff actually claimed there was a 'deficit' of towels in the hotel - one big towel per double room! Flat TV is cool indeed, especially the fact the image is reversed!:) more

We had a great time in this hotel totally renewed in a boat atmosphere. My friend has deeply appreciated the flat screen TV and the large buffet breakfast !! more
