A long weekend in Paris for 2 at a reasonable rate. We booked a 'job lot' which included return Eurostar to London and 3 nights B&B at the Syjac. Definitely a no frills hotel although the staff were friendly and helpful. Our rather odd two-tier bedroom would have been insufferably hot in the summer and, due to the extremely noisy outlook, impossible to open the window and get a good night's sleep. Facilities were basic; the bed not particularly comfortable and no food or snacks available except a reasonable breakfast with limited choice although plentiful. Its location is just too far for a short Paris break - and although taxis are much cheaper than London, the metro is a good 15 minutes walk away and the bus ride 45 minutes meandering through suburban Paris. La Defense is deserted at weekends so rather soulless, but we nevertheless found a couple of good bistrots.
