Like many of the smaller Paris hotels, the Aboukir is situated down a narrow side road which some might find difficult to find. The entrance to the hotel is also easy to miss and once inside, the small reception area seemed to be situated in a corridor with the luggage of everyone who had arrived early, stored in the public... more

It's a 2* hotel claiming to be 3*. Rooms are small even for 2 people, let alone 3. The "discounted" price I found online is just about the right price (a non-refundable deposit was the part of the deal for the "discounted" price). It's for wholesale shopping travellers rather than for leisure tourists. Non-refundable deposit (haven't come across these in... more

The reception claimed that they had not received any payment for my voucher and kept trying to squeeze double payment from me. My travel agancy luckily solved the situation - after two days. The hotel never said a word of sorry but by check-out asked an extra "Paris tax" (which I did not pay). The minibar was out of order,... more

Typical French hotel, with a two-person lift and pleasant staff on the 24hr desk. We stayed in a small double room on the 4th floor. The hotel is situated between three noisy streets so was quiet only if the windows were closed, but that meant no ventilation. To use the air-conditioning you opened the doors to the balcony and poked... more

This hotel has a very central location. It is not far to walk to the Louvre, Notre-Dame or other central sights. Very close is the Montorgueil pedestrian area stretching down to Les Halles - a very nice area. And right outside you have lots of small fashion shops - a mecca for female "prêt-a-porter" fashion. Also, the central location is... more

They claim the hotel has been recently renewed. Well if this is what they call refurbished, then I don't want to know how did this hotel look before. Just see the photos I've taken. I must say, this hotel is really quite awful. It's dirty and noisy, and the staff is rather weird. The people at the reception seem to... more

We had a 5 night stay in the hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is ideally located for visiting all the monuments, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. It was good value for money more

We booked a twin room with a friend for a business stay. The beds were so close it was like a double bed and almost sleeping with each other. Not great to share this type of bedroom with somebody who's not very close to you. I have though to say our room was quite clean and bathroom was great with... more

Arrived to be told that they had overbooked and we could only stay for one night and that we would be moved to another hotel next day. We duly packed up next day and went to reception to be told that we didn't have tomove after all. No apologies from the surly staff. Check out time was midday however we... more

This hotel is a great value for it's location. Right near 2 metro stops, fairly central area of the city, near decent priced shopping areas, late night food and drinks near by (walk right down Rue St. Denis and there is plenty going on in that area late night). The neighborhood is perfectly safe, anyone who says different grew up... more
