Hotel is very near to main railway station. 4 min walk from the main station. Hotel rooms are average. Morning breakfast is good. wifi connection is very poor. Only wifi is available in the lobby. There is no wifi available in hotel rooms.

Came past week as a solo traveler for 5 nights. Realize that this is a basic hotel. Don't expect a lavish room for the money you pay. I had a single bed room #16 that met my needs. Comfy bed, workable small bathroom with shower. Pros: 1. Location is perfect. Very close to Gare du Nord and Gare L'est, Metro #4 is short walk away. Lots of eating places to choose from. Mixed cultural setting. Hop-on bus stop very close. 2. Staff is very friendly and went out of their way to help with any questions. English was not a problem. 3. 24 hour front desk. Cons: 1. don't expect luxury, but basic needs met. 2. Hotel has elevator but it stops between floors so expect to walk up or down 6 or seven steps, so if you have mobility issues the hotel layout may be a challenge. 3. Continental breakfast offered is not worth the cost. Lots of nice places to eat close by. Overall it met my needs as a place to sleep and shower during my 5 days in Paris. I would come back. Don't think it would have met my wife's standards though.…

Walkable from Nord and East stations. Room was decent size, and the bathroom was big enough to accommodate a bath tub. Good bunch of restaurants around the place - all walking distance. Staircase and elevators are not exactly convenient to use. WiFi signals are very weak in the room - use only in the lobby. The property seems a little dated - but no complaints here. Would recommend this place if you are on budget.

The city hotel is perfect for a short stay in Paris. It’s clean, well kept and in a great location just a short walk from Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious with an ensuite which was ideal especially for the low price we paid. Would return and recommend.

Minutes from Gare Est and Gare Nord this is an excellent location. I had a single, dorm like room with a tiny bathroom. The shower work well and the sink may have been to close to the toilet for my tastes. The key remains in the hotel and when you check in they will tell you someone is always at the front desk. This is not true. On 3 of the 4 nights I spent here I had to ring the bell and wait from the front desk clerk to arrive to to get into the hotel (1 night in the rain). I also didn't fully understand when the other review said the elevator stops between floors. The elevator stops on the landing to the spiral staircase, not on the landing where the rooms are.(see photos). English fluent front desk folks. The lady was the best, helping me with directions to Disney, much better than the ones I got from Google. I'd stay here again.…

3 of us went over for rugby and were literally just looking for somewhere to throw our heads for the night. This was ideal for around €75. The room was clean and the water pressure was like a powerhose. A bed and a shower was all we wanted. I'd definitely recommend this. The wifi was a bit hit and miss but we didn't travel to France to send emails so it didn't matter. Do not expect the Ritz. Its a clean bed and a shower. It's located pretty close to Gare du Nord, we walked it and it only took 5-10mins. There's a nice cafe 50m away and a McDonalds across the road.

Our family of four arrived late with train to Gare du Nord so we choosed to stay here one night. It was great to be able to walk to the hotel in no-time but that is about the only great thing. It was not cleaned in a good way, and you sort of had to make your own bed. Breakfast was ok but all in all, this place is not worth your money. It was ok to stay one night but I would still not do it again.

Can access most of the Paris attractions and business places. However, price fare and food has to take from out. In front there is a local market where you can enjoy food. Front office is cooperative.

We stayed in this hotel in 1993 and on returning it is still the classical, down to earth hotel. Near Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est. Typical Parisian, with an elevators stopping between two floors, small rooms, shower or bath and dito beds. Sometimes a late arriving guest, but no one made too much noise. No air co, but the window had been open all day. Closing it clsoed out street noise too. Friendly staff, who now also speak English (and German). Clean, with some patina by wear and use. Simple and pas cher. And i do love the classic keys on a cord with a heavy weight. The neighborhood is lively, at least two sirens a day. Cafe, restaurant, markets, shops highly divers. I bought breakfast at a bakery in the very crowded Faubourg St. Denis. Very international.
