We arrived at 8.30am after an overnight train trip and were pleasantly surprised to be able to check in, move into our room, and use the showers immediately. The owners were very friendly and helpful, providing a city map and showing us the location of supermarkets, laundromat, the best route to the medieval city, etc. They admitted we had been double booked, but had realised this before our arrival and had set up a downstairs room which is not usually used for guests, for us. The room was huge and the beds were clean (we got 2 singles instead of a double, but this happened to us frequently throughout Europe. One of the singles was a King single). The corners of the room were a bit dusty and their daughters' slippers were still under the chair! but this didn't bother us. It must have been well into the 30s (celsius) while we were there but the room was blissfully cool in the middle of the day, despite no air conditioning.
